So I replaced my spindle just the other day. Went for an aligment and the guy said my bearing was bad! Anyways I got did a google search and this post popped up. It seems like you have everything covered but one. You forgot to mention how to pull the bearing out of the spindle. Now that was what I was actually looking for. Putting it back in would just consist of bolting all 4 corners down. I think I messed my bearing up when I was trying to take it out.

don't know what you mean about removing the bearing from the spindle.. the hub just unbolts from the spindle and the bearing remains intact in the hub. if you are talking about replacing the bearing in the hub, then your best bet is to order a replacement from NJ636 otherwise you can damage the bearing and have catastrophic failure if you don't have the bearing seated properly.

Is welding the spindle gussets on difficult? On a scale of 1-10, 10 being professional/excellent welder, I'm about a 5 or 6. Would this be something a more experienced welder should do? My beads are decent, I just have to hone in my consistency.

Thanks for the write-up, it helped this weekend. I had trouble getting the hub off of the spindle, had to use a bearing puller to coax it off the CV, looks like it was rusted a little.

Hello from 6 years after OP. I had a HARD hit on my passenger front on the trail (hard enough to debead), and now I have some random inward camber on that tire that I can't adjust out with the cams. The space between my tie rod and the disc is the same on both sides, but I wonder if I may still have a tiny amount of bend in the spindle from the impact that is causing it. Any thoughts?

Also- good aftermarket spindles or places to find OEM spindles? I figure even if the spindle isn't bent it'd be good to have a spare.

Yea I’d imagine you may have bent it. Try a junk yard or car-part.com or eBay or search around on here.

Would be a good idea to get total chaos spindle gussets too.

    Good luck

Great write up! Thanks for the help.

I too had to use a three jaw puller to get the hub off. But otherwise this really helped!
