    Hi Everyone,

I noticed under my hood that it looks like the center structure support is separating/unglued from the hood skin. I asked the dealer about this, so they looked at other 2015 Tacomas on the lot and they all had the same issue, so they said it was normal. The center of the hood feel flimsy when you press down. I'm trying to see if this is normal or is it a bad batch of hoods.

Here are pictures of the hood support separation.

Not sure I like that being "normal," but my 3 month old 2015^^^
On a side note, thanks for making me pop my hood, hand washed the mud off and forgot under the hood!

Edit: The front and sides of the hood are still glued (or whatever that stuff is) just the spots in the middle have come apart...

Normal, its used to help keep the underside and upper part together/aligned during manufacturing of the hood (which is 2 parts) once assembled it doesn't matter anymore what happens to those points of contact

Yeah mine too, the edges are good. Most of the separation is from the center supports.

Saw partial separations similar to alvinfromhawaii's in the middle of the hood on my 6-month-old 2015 also. If it's normal to have them separate, why glue them in the first place?

my guess is that it holds the hood tight during install and transportation but once it gets warm "POP"

I know this thread is over six months old but....Are you really sure about this? My wife's 2015 Off Road manufactured in July has the problem. Her 2012 Sport did not. I know because we had to have PDR work done on the 2012's hood twice and I checked it out carefully. Might want to see what happens with this Gen 3 thread. I do know that things can get more messed up if the "fix" is done wrong.https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/hood-vibrating.402060/

So do most of you think it best not to mess with it? Perhaps just document it and want and see? I may check with a friend of mine who owns a body shop to see what he thinks.

I wouldn't try to reglue the hood. The hood will buckle when the truck sits out in the sun all day.

    It's normal leave it alone.

I can show you my 2013 tacoma with the same thing, my 2005 4runner with the same thing, and so on.

It is exactly what @Flowin said it was. Just "blobs" of adhesive glue to keep bracing attached to the hood.

Really? Now that's interesting! Why the heck is Toyota fixing the 2016's then? Wish a Toyota Rep would weigh in on this with the "rest of the story". Crazy.
