For those debating whether or not to consider the OME 887s, I just had mine installed and I'm loving it. Ride is great image.jpg

Did you have to drop the center carrier bearing any?

I'm not really sure. I can take a pic if you'd like. I did stay with stock UCAs but I will be replacing them soon.

For many years there were complaints about a thunk, or thud noise coming from the front suspension of OME owners while driving over the backside of speed bumps. However, if you dig deep, you'll read (as I have) the problem is shared among other vendors products, not exclusive to OME. I regret to write, that that's exactly what my front suspension does. When I go over speed bumps and similar road obstacles, I get a loud thud noise like the shock is bucking (bottoming out, as in fully extended). It's very annoying and the only remedy is to drive like I'm 85 years old over obstacles. This (5) year old thread here seems to have the most information about the issue. Sadly, I don't think there is an immediate resolution. I fear that the noise is the shock fully extending and hitting an internal metal stop. I'm going to do a little more research on the subject before I take some action. On careful inspection of my new suspension, everything is torqued correctly, and sway bar is still out. Regrettably, the assemblers of my front suspensions added a 5mm trim packer into my product when I did not request it. IMO, it only exacerbates my issue for the drivers side. I will take some measurements of the new suspension to see how much lift I got from my 885 coils and nitro 921 shocks.

Interesting. I have not noticed a clank and I hit several speed bumps everyday at work...I'm going to pay closer attention and see if I notice anything.

Yup mine does it too. I've had the OME on for a few months now and I feel like it's not as severe as it once was. I could just be getting used to it though...

    I bounce it offa stuff.
I have 5/8" top plates and I think I'm pretty close to 3". I added the bumper about a year after the coils/shocks, and the winch 5-6 months after the bumper. Ill get a hub-to-fender measurement for you soon as it quits raining.

I got about 23-1/8" hub to fender, so whatever lift that translates to is what I got.

Edit: that is driver side. Running 5100s so no trim packer, and yes there is some lean. CV angles have def changed since adding winch, so I know I've lost a little height. I wheel it harder and faster than I should, and it makes a little noise, but its holding up fantastic until I drop cash on a midtravel setup.

I believe factory stock is 20.5 so you got about 2 5/8.?

Yeah it's probably just over 2 3/4". Used a very conservative measurement. But not 3". Keep in mind I have a 125lb bumper + 82lb winch plus its a DCSB 4x4

What are you running shock wise in the front? Dakars in the rear? Looks great btw!

I did the Wheeler's 3-leaf AAL and left the overload in. All I did was a carrier bearing drop and it got rid of almost all my vibes.

Stuff and things that make it better.
Mine does this also, I have been thinking about adding a limit strap just to see if it is the shock bottoming out.

Don't look to bad I would just pull the boots a little farther apart to make sure the boot don't rub together to make the cv last longer.... Atleast that's what I've been told to do

What's the best upper control arm to go with the OME lift? I heard different types but what do y'all recommend? I know a guy who had camburg with his but he couldn't get his 255/85r16 bfg km2's from riding real rough so he switched to 285 bfg AT and from what I know haven't had any problems. Would the camburg upper control arms been the problem with the skinny's?
