3" Old Man Emú suspensión Lift, 17x8 Stealth Custom SR 8, 285 70 17 Goodyear Duratracs, Linex bedliner. Installed rear outback 1.0 bumper with swing arm carrier.

Recent project completed thanks to the nice folks at CBI. Installed new Outback 1.0 with swing arm carrier this weekend. Changes looks a bit. Installation was easy and straight forward. Anyone looking to get done, easiest with two people, just to help set in place. I succeeded with patience and 9 good knuckles. It went in easy and fit was perfect. I asked to have the mount centered because did not have a need to carry jerry cans. No problem for the CBI team. Centered looks good. Did add the mount for the high lift jack. Any one looking at bumpers. Check out the team at CBI. Worth the dinero. Finish was right on, welds clean, and it fit perfect like it was truly made for the 1st gens. Great job CBI!

On the side of prevention I removed all spare tire mounts, brackets and pulley. Cleans up the underside allot. Also exposes a
good amount of rust. Shows all the spots the dealership missed during the frame coating recall. Will be making another visit to see them. Seems to be a solid collection point for moisture. Steel spare rim was in rough shape. This was the first time I have ever pulled the spare tire off, actually was
low on air. Lot a good that would have done me. 1st generations, take a look up under your back sides of your trucks :facepalm:behind the spare tire.

Next mod will be powder coating the side step rails same color as the bumper. Next year will be the front bumper. Exploring option of cap or rack system for the bed, carry mountain bikes.

Yes and no haha just a lot of pricey parts you have to swap out, and then paint unless you find a perfect color match... Hood, fenders, grille, core support, and even then it probably won't line up just quite right. Can definetly be done but wasn't worth it to me

Yeah but I only considered it because I work in parts for Toyota so I can get the parts cheap and get paint work at our body shop but may just end up doing a new fender and core support because I'm sure the core is expensive

I just did my conversion and all you need is a hood, grill, headlights, hood latch, fender brackets, bumper fillers, and corner lights. I have yet to paint my hood but only $200 in. After selling truck stuff including bull bar it has only cost me about $30 however.

You do not need a new core support. Just drill out the spot welds where the headlights attach on the 00 and buy fender brackets and bolt those in. The fender brackets are where the 01-04 headlights attach to

Did you use the fenders off of 00 with just 01-04 brackets ? Still doesn't seem worth the swap to me haha but I did want to do it so bad until the Elite came now you couldn't pay me to swap over

The swap was only worth it to me because I found an 02 hood for $40 on craigslist and have been wanting to do it for almost 2 years now. Yeah the fenders are my 00 ones and just bought the brackets for $30. They bolt in exactly with the existing core support. The fenders are the same as far as I know since mine is a pre runner. I think 5 luggers have different fenders so they would have to switch. I made a thread all about it if you want to check it out

Looks good! So, the spare swivels out of the way of the tailgate so you can still drop it completely?

I started collecting parts for this the day I bought my truck but when I asked about it during my last emissions test I found that Utah still requires a manual tire/wheel lock e-brake for registration, how'd you get around the emissions/safety? Or does your state not require it?

    Stuff and junk and things...

    ????

AZ didn't have an inspection when I lived there and CO only inspected my VIN when I first registered my truck here. Only emission testing since.

I might have to revisit this, it was the safety inspector that told me I was required to have the mechanical tire lock, but I just looked up the Utah law on what is required and this is all it says is:
    M. Parking Brake.
    (1) Check holding ability.
    (a) Reject when:
    (i) Parking brake does not operate or fails to hold vehicle.
    (2) Check ratchet or the locking device.
    (a) Reject when:
    (i) Ratchet, pawl or other locking device fails to hold brake in an applied position.

I have a few parts of this kit sitting in the garage, just need to create some sort of mounting bracket.

Thanks! It's been a fun project designing and making things the way I want them. I wanted the bumper to tough, and compact. I still need to fill in the space where the two little spots lights sit. Want to put in a winch there, just not sure when I'm going to spring for the winch I want.

Last week I changed all the gear oil and the left strut assembly, Today I am going to replace the right because it is pulling enough to bother me.
