Yeah, I'm going to throw in some stock LCAs w/ 25K miles for the time being. And will be getting aftermarket arms (stock or +2) later this year. Not worth the risk of having one come apart on the highway or trail for me.

please elaborate. Why would changing the bushings risk it coming apart? am I missing something because I don't want this happening either

 

Weld failures seem to becoming more and more common on the LCA, just saw one occur 2 weeks ago.

Not related to the bushings but not going to dump bushing money into these when I'm going to change them out anyways.

Ya I wanted to get TC race lowers....but for $1600...it's a bit ridiculous lol. No point in spending that money if I plan on going long travel lol. Thinking camburg 3.5" or TC 3.5". But I would have liked to put newer LCAs on when I swapped the bushings. Mine have close to 144k miles on them :/

I personally don't know, but i havent had issues with mine at all so far

 

I mean I'm rough on mine but nothing like that has failed or started to... Knock on wood. Worst thing thats happened to me was my u joints started to fail at 90k. I'm at 103k now and everything seems to be doing well... Knock on wood again.

 

That's what I'm thinking, a saying to buy aftermarket LCAs because other people who beat the crap out of their rig and break them is like comparing apples to oranges

 

Very true. But like I said I'm pretty rough on mine, Simon knows lol but I dont push it past its limits which is when shit breaks. Sometimes things wear out, that's what happened with my u joints

 

It's not just the people beating on their rigs. It's pretty common. Hardly apples to oranges.

yeah I can't afford or justify $1,600 LCAs...I def don't beat my rig up that bad. I really find it hard to believe this would happen to the weekend warrior or someone like me that offroads occasionally. but I guess you never know?...

 

Yeah I forgot FL doesn't really have wheeling so yall aren't used to seeing a rig that's been wheeled.

I agree, it's a big purchase. But it's hard for me to justify overnighting parts and leaving my rig on a trail. Or worse, the accident that occurs on the street when it lets loose.

 

We have wheeling, just not the kind where you can bounce your rig off of rocks and fuck shit up, but I forgot you aren't from Florida so you wouldn't know. Wait isn't this the Florida BS thread?

 

Yeah you're right, I grew up there. I forgot that driving through water and sand is wheeling....
