You don't have to have them but I will be placing my order on the 1st from @OCTaco.
Getting them already installed will save a little time but you don't have to. No spring compressor required on these trucks.

Let me clarify. No spring compressor required when you do it Sandman's way.
    BTW
I'm in my 40's and w/o the help of knowledgeable people I wouldn't want to do it all myself either. But on the trail it's good to "know" everything that's going on with your truck.

Ok, cool, thanks for the info. That'll save a few $$.

This is what I'm looking at; anything missing?

OME 3" kit: 9000 front shocks w/885 coils (thinking ahead for armor/winch weight. Will this ride horrible in the mean time?), top plate spacers, diff drop kit, 2" lift AAL. Not seeing if the AALs come with new ubolts or if there is a shim to fix the drivers side lean.

Agreed, I've never been one to not need to know what my vehicle is doing or how the parts I'm installing function (and break).

*885 are going to be good/a little stiff without a bumper, maybe too soft with a bumper. The jury is divided but I have 886 on mine with my bumper (no winch yet) and like it.
*What size spacers? There is an inherent "Taco lean" on the drivers side because all the heavy components. Leveling is usually done up front.
*Nix the diff drop, general consensus is its worthless on 2nd gens.
*depends on the AAL, some might come with u bolts. Some also think AAL are bandaids, but if you don't haul heavy it should be good. For heavy hauling new packs or OMD Chevy leaf packs are GOOD.

Looks good to me. Potential problems come in the form of driveline vibrations. To correct you can lower the carrier bearing or use degree shims on the axle.

The property in red is between 50 and Oregon Trl. Combined with the inside it is about 50-60 acres. Not over 1k. The inside has a power sub, the outside has a 3M$ warehouse. The land surrounding it is all private developer. Looks like they have been busy for 6 years.

Maybe I'll do the 886s then, I'm not really a stickler for a soft ride. Not sure, Toytec's site doesn't say, they say to use it to get a full 3" in the front w/884 & 885 coils. Nothing about 886 coils. Ok, won't get the diff drop, was just concerned about the CV angles.

More on the driveline vibrations....is this common with these lifts? And is it a PITA to rectify? No idea what the things to mentioned entail.

In my search for local spots I came across this, not sure if we found it in the same place, but people chimed in and said the residents will call the cops.

You can take a ride in mine if you'd like.

The descriptions online are to give a general idea. Ome 884 I would only put on a regular cab, 885 medium stiffness, 886 heavy stiffness on access or double cabs. I think wheelersoffroad.com gives weight ranges. Also if you think 886 is too stiff you can get 887s, taller but same spring rate as 885 if I recall.

Vibes are a fairly common issue after lifting because you're changing the driveline angles. I didn't have any issues with the trucks I've lifted. It can be a pain to track it down but correcting it just takes some measuring and then a spacer here or wedge there.

That'd be cool, don't want to make the wrong choice. And fixing the vibration doesn't sound like a terrible process, this is all accelerating my purchase timeline. I'm blaming you guys when the wife gets wind of this.

There clearly are trails and dirt roads that go south and southwest toward 50. I'm sure that the guy was right at one time, but the buildings on the property are only 5 years old or so. The birdseye views haven't been updated yet online and they show it under construction. I'm sure they are much more protective over the equipment and vehicles they have stored there now.
The rest of the area looks like it is carved up with easements for power (power distribution lines) and the like. It is definitely private land, but don't know what would happen if you were to roll in there with a truck.

Unfortunately, every inch is being developed or called for. Until one of us makes a big buck and dedicates his backyard to wheeling we are stuck with UWHARRIE or private offroad parks.

Don't let that discourage you, keep looking!

    Hah! we won't protect ya.
As far as the driveline vibe goes, Iv'e heard it either way. I think Sandman gets lucky and always winds up pointing the rear axle in the right direction. I cant hear a little driveline vibe with MT's let alone mud on my wheels, so if you are one of those really picky guys that your truck needs to drive like , well an STi, this isn't the direction. Hell, before long they will tell you "Skip the drop down backets for the antiroll bar, they are for pussy's, just throw it away"

There are guys here with big turbos and lots of boost that will get you down the track though.

I love the price, but blocks = bad, no?

Nah, I know this is a truck...my STi's suspension was pretty well modified; coilovers, camber plates, lightweight tubular subframe, anti-lift kit, big sways, all kinds of stiffened bushings, xbrace, etc. It was a stiff ride, but done right.

Now, my last car was an s4 so that was a departure from both the STi and the truck. I already have some DuraTracs on order to get rid of the Rugged Fails, so I'm well on my way to vibrating my baby to sleep in the back and pissing my wife off in the front.
