how do i make my ifs flex...?

    01 tacoma 6" suspension lift
    35" tires, 15" wheels 6" suspension lift (fabtech),
    im new to this whole forums thing but was wondering if anyone could give me some info on my 01 tacoma it has the ifs front suspension i have a 6" lift on it and it doesnt flex out at all really i would like to keep the ifs and not convert to the straight frontend anyone got any ideas...

    take your sway bar off
    but be carefull it will handle WAY diffrently

    K&N cold air intake, doug thorley headers, rear sensor simulator, flowmaster 40 series, magnecor plug wires, Royal Purple synthetic gear lube, airaid throttle body spacer, Hyperground system, flex-a-lite elec fan.
    it does handle differently. It didn't give me as much of an independent front end as I wanted but I'm also at stock height so that'll probably make a difference.

    Long travel the rear suspension. I've seen some incredibly capable rigs that were long travel in the rear and not very flexy in the front. It's a decent compromise between keeping the IFS and keeping all 4 tires on the ground when crawling.

    Cheaper to do a solid axle swap!! ;)

    do you still run your sway bar?? if not have you completely flexed yours out since you put on the fox's...?? i'm pretty impressed with mine to be what it is..

    What should one expect for added travel and difference in handling when removing the Sway Bar?

    Obviously the Travel depends on the type of Suspension set up, but any general thoughts? Right now im limited by my stock bump stop brackets until I get some Limit straps but Id like to know what more I can gain.

    all depends on the setup your running.. its not that difficult to unbolt.. just take it off for a few days and try it out.. if you dont like it you can always bolt it back on.

    Relentless Armored! Too many others to list.
    Just removing the sway bar is the easiest way to get some more flex out of IFS. SAS would be nice, but lots of work and money to do. Heres the flex out of mine with the sway bar removed:

    3 inch coilover and add-a leaf lift
    I didn't notice much difference after removing my swaybay, onroad or offroad, the only thing i noticed was it handles bumps in the road much better b/c it doesn't absorb it w/ both tires just one.

    Although removing the sway bar might not be noticable under normal circumstances.... the critical part, is if/when you ever have to make a panic manuever. It could make the difference between staying on 4 wheels and rolling over.

    I know the 1st gen trucks have quick disconnects for the sway bars. I had a set on my 96.

    Not sure if anyone has them for the 2nd gens yet...
