ran over ANOTHER nail. 4th one in a month. Tire seems to be holding air though so I'm not gonna fuss with it.

 

I am waiting to hear back from a local gear supplier before i pull the trigger on anything. guy is getting me a final time/cost quote for the fox's, looking on the fox website it says their rear shocks for the 1st gen tacoma come built for 0-1" of lift. because I've got the OME dakars i think i'm right at about 2" of lift.

I believe fox can just make them with a slightly longer rod for the extra height but i don't know diddly squat about this stuff yet. I'm currently trying to read up and learn about it on google ha.

Might want to check out allpro, I think they have extended travel fox's that fit stock location.. On their website it says it fits 2-3" lifts but the only real way to find out if it's the right shock for you is to flex your suspension and measure from shock mount to shock mount (center to center) then find out what the collapsed and extended lengths of the shock is.

 

But I can't get an Elite bumper thanks! That cleared some confusion up

 

Thanks for the heads up. I did find the page you are referring to on all-pro's site where they have the same 2.0 performance series IFP shocks as on Fox's website, but with a different part number and strokes. I will make sure to measure my shocks asap and also cross-reference with OME info as to what my current setup should be

 

Did some very amateur body work to my box rails. There was quite a bit of rust along the top of the rails from the canopy. I ground down the rust with an angle grinder, brush painted it with black POR 15 and then rattle can bombed it with duplicolor.
Really wish I had taken before photos. Although it doesn't look fantastic, it's a huge improvement to what it was before, and cheap too!

 

That bites man. I ran over one in my old mtrs, left it there and it ripped itself out weeks later but had no leak since it was in the tread block.

 

Finally got time to color-match the last of the chrome on my truck. Can't wait to see what it looks like

 

did you get your por-15 locally or order through somewhere?

 

I found mine at Napa, had to look on their site and call around.

 

I bought a tiny can of it at the local paint store for $11. Still have over 90% of the can left. That stuff really goes a long way.

 

yeah it's right in the middle of a block and seems to be holding air...until it starts leaking I'm not gonna bother with it. The other 3 were much more immediate

 

I searched and found some posts about people installing at2525 mufflers a ways back but couldn't find how they ended up liking them. can anyone chime in on how they like their at2525? I'm also looking at a 14 in magnaflow to replace my fm40

 

14 is pretty small, you might be happier with an 18 instead if possible, the last times I ran 14 inch mufflers they were loud and raspier than the larger 18, I currently run a 24 inch magnaflow.

 

i'll check out an 18 in maybe I might like it more who knows. currently I'm happy with the sound & how loud the flowmaster 40 is but it does drone and I was reading how they hurt performance on our trucks

 

yeah flowmaster stuff seems to suck on the Tacoma.

Which is fine cause I hate the way they sound.
