IIRC an LSD from the old school twin turbo Supras will fit. If you can find one.

can't says I'm aware of another...
but I'd personally choose the ARB regardless.

    tried and proven...
    worthy of it's investment ;)

limited slip... is not a locker.
and is dang near useless off road.

    tho' braking application can help...
it's too damn much effort and brake wear IMO

LSD is quite useful offload. I had a 4wd Tundra Limited once with a rear LSD that proved quite handy.

Applying brakes to a normal, open diff can make it act like an LSD.

Absolutely, I couldn't agree more. It is just not something I would do. I travel up north in the winter way to often to let a LB locker limit me from traveling.

Just sold a buddy's 2007 Jeep with a lunchbox kit in it. Never, Never, again.

Lincoln locker before dealing with that stuff again, and again, and again.

    Noisy delicate POS!.

Ordered an Aussie front today. Hopefully it'll come in with some cooler weather so I can install it.

I never did order one but would still like to have one. My base pan is slowly leaking oil and the diff has to come out either way to fix.

That's why I went ahead and ordered one. Oil pan leak is getting worse and I got a little bonus on my paycheck. May as well do something when the diff is on the ground.

nope. Cant see it causing a problem in 2wd either.

well...put it in and let us know! Haha.

I still don't think it's a great idea. It won't perform how you think it will. You'll constantly be battling steering issues with that thing in the front. Not being able to turn when your in a jam. Unless you have full hydro or even hydro assist, the factory rack will shit the bed within the first year. Being able to engage and disengage the front is the only way to go with these trucks. IFS that is

    Good luck!

I have to say that's a little dramatic!

But I agree on one thing, it will be a bitch to turn in 4wd

From what literature and reviews I've read, it'll be just what I want. I don't rock crawl and my truck isn't a trail rig. In the south here, it's mostly dirt and mud...the soft stuff. To get to a rock trail I'd have to travel 2+ hours.

Just wire in a switch to the add in the front axle, then you can disengage the pass. side axle shaft when on hard surfaces or tight maneuvering essentially creating an open diff to reduce binding issues but still have 3 wheels(if locked in rear) pulling. Buddy did it on his 4rnr without a locker up front just so he had the option of 2 low.

I still don't see how that's possible as the ADD is vacuum actuated.....? It would have to be a selenoid, similar to an ARB switch

I already have that done as a 2lo mod aswell.
I have a switch wired into the blue solenoid valve as a 2lo mod. All those problems you listed with the hard steering would apply to any locker up front (thats engaged) not just the lunchbox ones. And really i havent heard of people unlocking their arbs everytime they want to turn while wheeling.
