First mod: converting the sealed beam headlights to use H4 bulbs. I used the Autopal e-code H4 housings.

The amount of usable light and pattern is so much better for a plug and play mod.

Side by side: Sylvania sealed beams vs Autopal e-code H4 with autopal bulbs.

I have since added a relay harness for more power and upgraded to Hella 100w bulbs. The light output is great and I have never been flashed or pulled over for the headlights!

I picked these up off of a TW member new and welded them up. Dragged them all over the rocks without any issue!

    JUST KIDDING

I've been watching craigslist forever and finally scored a pair of gray 3rd gen 4runner SR5 seats. Having lumbar support is such an awesome upgrade compared to the BTFO factory bench. Apparently my seats were falling apart because as far as I can tell all of my interior squeaks and rattles are gone lol

Just now seeing your post....The truck has since been parked due to engine issues but a replacement is in the works. I'm just waiting for my tax refund.

edit: I have a set of like new 31x10.50x15 KM2s to put on after the motor is swapped :D

This morning I picked up a motor from a wrecked 2002 with 134k miles. The motor was still in the truck and sounded very healthy. The oil was clean and the coolant was perfect so I couldn't say no.

Gonna get it dropped in this weekend, I will update with more pics :D

Motor swap took longer than expected but I just wrapped it up today. The truck has so much power now, it's really a blast to drive :D

Long overdue update. I've put over 5000 trouble free miles on the motor and am still loving it :D

I had the KM2s installed and also had the windows retinted.

    The truck as of 9/27/16:

I picked up a used set of Budbuilt skids for a price that I couldn't resist. I got them installed tonight, I'm ready to go offroading this weekend!

Also installed a set of Hella Sharptone horns. They're much louder and much more aggressive than the stock horn but I think I may take the covers off and paint them black. We'll see.

Cool truck! Same year and same wheels as my rig. They are getting rare these days.

Thanks! You have quite the truck yourself! I think they are pretty good looking wheels. They aren't too flashy or too plain

This weekend I ran Middle St. Vrain. The weather was just about perfect and it really was a beautiful day out. There aren't really any action shots but here's some proof ;)

    Thanks!

yeah, I know but work/life always come before the truck and maintenance comes before mods. Maybe I should post all of my oil changes and tire rotations too :D

Next is some electrical work, I have a paranoid switch plate that goes in the ashtray location so I'm going to make a harness to run the wiring for adding aux reverse lights, USB charging outlets, and heated seats. Hoping to get that done tomorrow!

I also picked up a gauge cluster with the factory tach that I have to install! Thinking about putting in LEDs before it goes in but I don't like how bright they are and the hotspotting that they cause so I may not.

Tonight I swapped out my basic gauge cluster for one with the factory tachometer!! Not the most extreme upgrade but I'm excited about it :D

    Thank you again @BossFoss :)

Headed your way in a couple weeks. You think of things you would like? That way it gives me some time to snap photos for you and pull parts.

My steering rack and high pressure line both need to be replaced. I got quoted about $2200 parts and labor to both from the dealer :annoyed:

It looks like the parts are about $700 through NAPA, but I will be traveling the next 3 weekends so I don't know when I would be able to do the work myself. If I'm gonna drop that much money I'd rather put it towards a SAS. Not sure what I should do.:crapstorm:
