JackWagon's 2015 Plan

Hey everyone. I've been lurking and researching and finally came up with a plan for my Black 2015 DCSB SR5. I'm looking for any info (good idea, bad idea and recommendations).

Here is my plan.....

Headstrong Off-road 5100 bundle w/ 885's (should net 2.5" lift)
Level 8 Bully Pro w/ 265/75r16 BFG KO2 (hopefully mpg won't be hit too hard)

What do you think? Recommendations, alterations, any input or advice is welcomed..

Any insight would be helpful. Would the new Eibach 2.5 springs be better or screw it and get 887's. Is there a better tire you recommend ( don't be a puss, go with 285's) or a different rim (I like the SCS SR8 also).

I should also add the usage of my truck.. It is on DD status, so 95% mall crawler with the occasional hunting/camping/fire road type outings. If I want to get into any heavy offroading I'll take my YJ. I also commute about 50 miles a day mostly highway.

 

I have the Level 8 Bully Pro's with 285/75/16 Duratracs and icon stage 4 lift. This is also my daily driver. Can't say I have noticed a significant drop in mpg, although my commute is only 5 miles, not 50.

OP - I can't speak from any experience. But Friday I'm having my full OME kit with Dakars installed. Doing 887's up front. Estimating around 3" lift over all. I'll be sharing pics in a new thread once it's all said and done.

Here's my 2008 TRD OR W/Eibach, LR UCA's & Bilstein set at .85 and 2" AAL rear, 265/75/16 Duratrac's my mileage with these tires is running between 18-20 MPG as long as I stay under 65 mph.

 

Looks good Camo. 265's don't look all that bad on 3" lift.

 

Thanks for the input everyone. I think I have decided on the 887's w/ LR UCA's. 885's are hit or miss for needing aftermarket UCA's. I'd hate to go with 885's and still require the UCA's, when I could have just gone w/ 887's and been done with it. I also think I will stick with 265's and consider the 285's later on down the road (I don't want to cut up my new truck right now). I'm still up in the air on the tire (KO2, STT, Toyo R/T, or??) and wheel (SCS SR8, Level 8 Bully Pro's or stay stock).

meditaciousD: Do you have any rubbing? What trimming did you have to do? CMC?

 

I like your options. Personally the SR8's in bronze would look super rad. I'd just go with 285's vs. 265's as you're tire will look much smaller with the lift you'll achieve with the 887's. That being said, if you're gonna do any light or medium wheeling, you'll still end up having to trim a little of your fender liner...unless you like that rubbing sound.

 

Picking up my truck with new 887 lift in front in a few hours. I have 16" 265's on it. I'll share photos so you can see what that looks like.

 

I like the bronze as well. The wife isn't completely on board with the bronze.. She prefers the blacked out look. I'd like to see how that looks Kyitty.

Had to trim a little plastic fender. No CMC though. Slight rubbing when in full lock reverse on a slope. I don't do any off roading though, and I haven't taken it in for final adjustments yet either. Will likely get better clearance after adjusting the front to full 3". At about 2.5" upfront right now.

265/75/16 KO2's on stock wheels

I'll post some before and after shots when everything is completed. Tires will be installed today and the suspension when brown Santa drops it off and I get time.
