    Hello -

I've been a lurker on this forum for some time... My 2002 DCSB TRD-OffRoad was totaled by a drunk driver (sucks) and I picked up a new 2015 DCSB TRD-OffRoad Entune Audio Plus this weekend.

I was really bummed to find out that the rearview mirror in the later 2nd gen models no longer have a temperature sensor or compass and I would like to add one of the "Bob Mirrors".

In my research I read that some late year 2015 models do not have the overhead harness pre-wired. Does anyone have experience with this?

I don't want to pull off my overhead fixture only to find nothing is there. I checked in front of the radiator for the temperature sensor and wasn't really sure what to look for, but it looked like there was a temp sensor there.

    Any help or guidance appreciated.

    Thanks!

I purchased a 2015 DCSB TRD-Offroad Prerunner with Navigation/EnTune (I'm not sure about the Plus) in April and installed a "Bob" Mirror for the garage door button functionality. Prior to completing the order Bob asked if I had the red (always on) wire in my overhead console harness. If I didnt' he said he would send me the mod for free. I had not opened the console yet and didn't want to do it twice, so I asked if he could just send the mod and he did (Thanks Bob!). As it turned out, the harness was complete and the whole installation took less than an hour including cleanup. I did not get the temperature sensing model which takes a lot longer to install because you need to install and wire the sensor from someplace under the hood near the grill. BTW, the mirror looks stock and works well. I highly recommend Bob.

If its like the MY14 then you will have to purchase a mirror with a temperature probe kit. You'll have to mount and route the wiring from the probe in the grill all the way to the headliner. The harness in the ceiling only has Power, Ignition, Ground. there are no temp wires in that harness.

I have a 2015 DCSB TRD sport and I had the overhead pre-wired harness. Contact Bob from Bob's Mirrors and he will hook you up. I got a Homelink, temperature, and compass mirror and the install took less than an hour. You can't go wrong with a mirror from Bob. It's one of my favorite upgrades that I have done to my truck.

Did something similar to my 2015. Didn't bother with the temp as I'm in Southern California and temps don't change much. +1 for Bob's helpfulness and overall knowledge. Great to deal with.

You might also consider one of MrImYo's mirror relocation brackets: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/review-immryo-rear-view-mirror-lift-bracket.210670/ One of the best low-cost mods I've done, with a huge improvement in visibility/safety.

My late 2015 DCSB Sport has the harness. Bob is one of the best guys to do business with. His helpfulness and knowledge is incredible!

It was a 5 min install for Bob's auto dimming mirror. The temperature feature requires just a bit more work. Looks great.

It's only one screw to check your harness

My 2015 was made in June according to the door sticker and the harness and plug was still up in there.
