Well im interested in buying a 2005 V6 Tacoma 4x4 with high milage.
The truck has 280k Miles and the seller is asking $7k.
Is there anything I should look out for? Is that a good price for the milage?
    Thanks
    Eric

Frame rust most importantly. Obvious leaks is a close 2nd.

Damn. That's a lot of miles. Glad to see its still worth something.

I'd be more concerned with service records. I'd want to know its been taken care of. If it made it to 280k it probably has been though.

Well it's from a dealer so it probably doesn't have much service records. Gonna check the car fax soon.

Little rust & no leaks id expect another 100k from it as long as you upkeep with the maintenance.

That's a lot of miles for sure. As pointed out get under it and look for rust all over the frame.

You can always ask the dealer if they'll let you take it to an independent mechanic to get a 2nd opinion! I'd say it really all comes down to how it was driven and maintained throughout it's 10 year life.

Are you in a location the frame rust recall covers, or has the inspection already been done?

My 05' failed. They punched a hole in a soft spot right next to the drivers side rear cat on the inner frame rail. I spent a lot of time under there, even painted it last year, and when I took it in I thought it would pass. Got it back with the new frame last week.

    Ugh... Okay

I'd have used a hammer and screw driver...

    But $6k is cheap.

Well that inspires me but this truck was not taken care of as well.

Does anyone else see anything wrong in the video? And the auto trabs shifts fine but the shifter is tough.

My truck is an '05 with a new frame and 50k fewer km.

    Those dollars seem large.

Try shopping in Canada, your dollar is very high right now.

HEAD GASKET. That thing needs head gaskets guaranteed. 05-07 tacos have head gaskets that go out... mine with 215k had bad gaskets, google it and youll see what i mean. Have them do a leak down test

This. I just bought a 2005 with ~150k, and found out the head gasket was blown...
