I have never seen a tacoma with a moonroof unless it was aftermarket. That would be cool though. I could be wrong.

Thanks guys. I saw those pic also. Wonder why they said it's not available. I'm guessing the first one that they can order is the Limited

Yes, that is correct, unless you're in Canada, where the Limited is available in DCLB only, no short bed in Limited here.

Actually, the moonroof is part of the tech package, which is separate from the jbl. They are available on trd sport, offroad and limited double cabs only.

One of the 6'1" reviewers mentioned their head/hair was touching the ceiling when sitting, he was in a moon roof model. If you're taller & want a moon roof, my advice is to hold off on ordering until you've sat in a moon roof model.

Edit: This was on the AutoGuide review.

So are you saying that I can get a new tacoma with JBL + no moonroof? That's what I want. I've seen plenty of horror stories about moonroof glass breaking, seals wearing off and motors stop functioning midway. I trust Toyota, but no moonroof is a plus for me.

JBL is an add on to Tech Package which if I understand everything I've seen over the last month correctly, always includes the moonroof on a DC. There is a spec sheet document over on TFL trucks - there is a thread around here started on 8/17 that has a list of all reviews and docs - its at the top of that thread.

    here is the thread: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/all-links-to-reviews-specs-and-videos-for-2016-tacoma.387342/

and here is the link to the specs - go to page 11/12: https://www.tacomaworld.com/out/?ur...015/08/2016-toyota-Tacoma-Technical-specs.pdf

DC with A/T has the moonroof, AC does not have moonroof nor does it list JBL option. Oddly I don't see JBL listed at all in that doc for LTD but ther eis another doc there that does list it: http://www.ih8mud.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/2016-Tacoma-Product-Info.pdf

Seems the docs were rushed out or incomplete.

"Premium & Technology Package (Double Cab): Dual Zone Climate Control heated front seats, rear parking sonar, Blind Spot Monitor (requires color keyed rear bumper) with Rear Cross Traffic Alert, auto-headlamps, and moonroof"

"Premium & Technology Package with JBL Audio (Double Cab, A/T): Includes features from Premium & Technology Package and adds Entune Premium JBL Audio"

You don't need the JBL package to have the moonroof.

I've had moon/sunroofs in every one of my cars, some 18 years old, and none have ever failed in any sort of way.

Just get ready to pay or wait for a year. Mine is a short bed moon roof and it's almost to $38k. Not a limited either. Have not negotiated down but the few dealers that are willing to talk 2016 around me are not letting up on price. then again the 2015s were full msrp until about a month ago.

    Here's the problem.
    I'm 6'2"

    I saw this video.

    AutoGuide.com
    http://youtu.be/kHmUfHbt-dk

The moon roof tacks on ~2 inches to the ceiling of the cabin. That's head room I would actually need.

If I have NO moonroof, I get more headroom and something less to worry about, in terms of breaking or wearing out.

I believe you. And I do trust Toyota. They most likely pulled that moonroof from the Camry.

But it is probably something I probably won't use. Or maybe because I have never owned a car with one, it's something I don't know I like.

Totally get you. I'm 5'7", so I never run into that sort of issue. If head room is at a premium for you, in a vehicle that has a non-height adjusting seat, it totally makes sense to get every little bit that you can.

Oh please, the dude was just being a douche. Just recline the seat and adjust accordingly. It won't really matter unless you're in the NBA, then get a full size.

Dealer confirmed yesterday that the JBL option in a TRD sport cannot be attained without a moonroof.

10 years ago I went to the dealership set on buying a Tacoma, but after the test drive I felt like the headroom was not at all generous to the point that outward visibility was being impeded. Over all it was just a little cramped and I'm only 6'1 240. I then saw a 1 year old tundra trd and decided to test drive that as a comparison. Much more head and hip room, good power, and an as soft or softer ride. I bought the tundra instead. I've got my heart set on a new Tacoma, but I'm praying I fit in this one a little better than the 2005 I looked at 10 years ago. Putting the seat back is not necessarily a good option if it compromises a comfortable seating position. I don't like to feel like I'm laying down in the seat. It's pretty sad that with the seat just barely off the floor that at 6'2 the guys head is rubbing the roof.

Depends on the person, some 6 footers are more leg than waist up,im 6'2" but long legs and I leased a tacoma back in 07 not a headroom problem at all
