I read up on some of the posts here on the Pop & Lock install. Thanks for all who contributed. Now let me add some information about what I did on my installation.

Here are my issues I had with this device:

One, it's only secured by a single 10mm hex screw. Applying torque (to the left making it worse) from attempting to open the tailgate easily moves the bracket and I can see this eventually leading to the hex screw coming loose.

Two, the rolled edge of the inside of the handle hole did not allow for the bracket to sit flush.

Three, the now included foam backing is secured to the body of the assembly only with a zip tie.

Four, the wiring (although PVC jacketed), was not encased in split loom.

    To these issues:

I cut a small slice into the bracket to clear the rolled lip of the edge of the handle opening. When securing the bracket, I used a lock washer and medium strength thread lock:

I removed the zip tie holding the foam backer and used two part epoxy to glue it to the base:

I used a 90 degree bracket that I cut slightly to create a positive stop against the pop and lock bracket (preventing any rotation or loosening)

I loomed all of the wire, ran it along the bottom of the truck with many more zip ties than what was supplied in the kit. The wiring ran along the existing path of other loomed wire. I popped the wiring through the passenger drain plug after drilling a tight little hole (maintaining a seal in the rubber), and connected it to the passenger door lock wiring.

I greased up the metal assembly for good measure.
