    Hello Forum,
    I have an '08 PreRunner 4.0 DCSB with a 4" lift & bolt-on sliders from SOS Offroad @EddyRRT which were custom made at "0" degrees but still a bit uncomfortable entry/exit for my 5' tall wife. This may become her daily driver since I'm thinking of getting a 2015 4x4 Tacoma or 4Runner. I want to remove the sliders & install some steps that are low and not too close to the trucks body. That way she can get in and out of the truck easier.

    Anyone have any recommendations on what steps would suit my needs?

    Thanks

    I have the 5 inch wide oval Raptors on my 2015. I can set a 2x4 on the step and tell you the top of the stepis less than "4" inches below the top of the door jamb.

    So probably not those. Probably you are going to be looking at hoop steps. I dunno which ones.

    No way can i open and close the door with a 2x4 on there.

    These are not the steps you are looking for.

    I could probably open the door with a 2x2 on the step, but with a 2x4 standing tall, no way.

    My all time favorite comment is as follows;

    "There's only one thing that goes worse than losing a fight with my wife. And that would be WINNING a fight with my wife."

    If I have it in my power to give her what she wants, she GETS it.

    You sound like me! I am truly happy for you because I know how you feel. My wife is actually the one pushing for this for me. I wanted "her" to have the new vehicle but she insists that I get the 4x4 that I want.

    Just a few LEDs...
    I was trying to decide between running boards and tube steps. I wanted something that hung lower and stuck out further than the OEM steps because they are up so high and so close to the truck that they are useless.

    I finally decided to go with Go Rhino 5" Xtreme Ovals. These worked out perfectly for me. They stick out enough to protect against door dings ion parking lots. The extra added bonus with these is they will never ever rust because they are made out of a composite material.

    Here is a review that another member did on these.

    What about the predator bars? I think they make them in different drops. Been a spell since I looked at these for a different vehicle.

    Awesome! Would you mind taking some pics of the steps from the side? Example: you facing the side of the truck and being at level with the top of the step to see how much lower it is than my sliders?

    Thank you.
