What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

LEDs or incandescents?

 

I believe that's a northwest trail innovation bumper

 

The taillights have LEDs but the turn sigs front and rear are incandescent bulbs

 

They may be the culprit. I recommend replacing your signal relay (behind the fuse panel under the dash) with an led signal relay you can get at the auto store. I'll try to dig up the thread on it and post you the link

The front bumper was made custom and locally to me by c4 fabrication.

 

I have no student loans either, but I am paying for school on my own while paying rent

I like to think of it as an endearing quality.

 

Just ordered some tires. Went with Treadwright Warden 265/75/16s again. Got their Bead2Bead this time in Load range D. The last set I had have lasted >50k miles with both on and rugged off road usage. Hopefully these will give me the same performance

 

After the bubble I got I can't say I want to get another set. I hope you will have better luck man.

Driving my truck through all the small towns in newfoundland. Many have under 100 people and have no internet or cell service. It is like a different world to some. Pictured is seal cove and wild cove.

Well I sat down with my truck today, stared at it and had some deep thoughts about what I want to do with it....
I really want to wheel it often and have a more capable truck. I can't find any discussions about lifting single cabs. A lot of lifts say arnt recomended because of the light weight, but if in the future I had a tube bumper, skids, and sliders would this help any by making up for some weight? Maybe somebody can point me toward a thread where this is discussed

Its not that lots of lift isnt recommended its that 3" lifts are usually sprung for v6 ext cabs so youl get to much lift and a rough ride with a single cab. Ome has a spring combination that should work. Also if you contact toytec you can get a lower spring rate set other than the 620lb ones listed. Adding a locker if you dont already have one would be my first recommendation.
