If you can ditch the wiring it gets a lot simpler. I'm going to bypass the factory wiring so I don't have to worry about all that crap. Go for an FJ xfer like kumz

The guys on this forum are probably the least of your worries. You better start slapping flyers along Farrington Hwy if that's a major concern about traffic up there. I'm sure no one on this forum from the Oahu Group will be up there on that day. We're not the typical Wahoo's out causing hate and discontent...

I would assume that if it's a sanctioned event taking place on Oahu and that if it was properly coordinated with officials through the State, then the state would "not" issue day passes or camping permits during that timeframe.

u can have 2lo with a pretty simple dpdt momentary switch, might cost 20 bucks in the end. that manual hub thing isn't worth it.....at all, you can have a few sets of cv's and hubs for the cost of their "kit"

 

My friend Keahi that has a serious SAS'd truck that fequents Waikani said his next truck is gonna be a long travel IFS.
When he hits big bumps at speed in the SAS, they tend to stay in the air ( on 3 wheels ) longer then he cares for. He said long travel IFS wont do that. Wish i had pics to show y'all.

Theres at least 2 that I know of. True long travel meaning the rear shocks go through the bed too.

Well...your right. True long travel doesn't have leaf's either. The Ranger didnt have leafs. But No. No place to run LT how they should be run. I tried looking for a place. Even tried the main road in Kaena....nope! No rhythm, no rolling hills, no jumps. Just jagged rocks that will probably brake something first.

Why a momentary and not a toggle?

 

The switch is for the add actuator, u only need it on till it kicks into 4 dub yah dee, then the shift fork stays engaged

 

What happens when you drop back into 2 Hi? Does it not fire the diff servo again? Would you not get a servo position fault?

Actually, you are correct. I don't think we've had any problems with someone driving a Taco. But I did want to get the word out just in case someone had something planned. Problems seem to arise when a group is expecting to let loose, and then sees they can't because 100 pedestrians are running around. All homework and coordination has been done, but DLNR will not shut down trails or stop issuing permits for a sanctioned event.
