    My only issues are when driving on snow packed roads. I can't stop as well as I could without abs

    My tires are and always have been fine. It's the abs. I agree that I'd rather have a switch so I can turn it off when roads are snow covered and on the rest of the time

    I have only had issues when it kicks in. Which has only been in packed snow

    Correct I know the 2008 is different because it has no vsc and has the old mechanical lsd. No fancy electronics. I guess I need to go out to truck and see what my wires look like. There are 3 different how to's posted here and all are different methods and use different wires

    So I did the 2 position switch. Light green wire. Turn car on flip switch and nothing happens. No ABS light at all

    i even tried just turning on the truck with the wire cut, no ABS night comes on. shouldnt it come on and stay on?

    I used this on/off interruptor switch. Has 2 connections on the back.
    But like I said even if I disconnect the wires leaving an open circuit the abs light does not come on

    sounds like you have the wrong wire then - all the switch would be doing is 'cutting' the wire

    I tried 2 different ways to do it from write ups here. I cut the wire specified in the write ups. Light green on both accounts

    I'm guessing this (Caveman Method) will work for you, the major difference between the 2 is grounding the switch.

    I originally tried the caveman mod, but after popping 3 fuses and getting frustrated, I used a simple spst (2-pole) switch without the ground and problem solved.

    Nope I tried the caveman thread method first. Didn't work. I thought you were referring to a different thread. I tried it with a on off 2 pole switch too. The abs light didn't even come on when I cut the wire.

    Only thing I can think is for some reason the 2008 has different wiring. Makes zero sense but what else could it be

    Can you post pics of your plugs/harnesses next time you're down there?

    And just to confirm, when your ABS does kick-in (packed snow example), does the light come on?

    I can't say that I have ever seen the light go on when the abs kicks in.
    When I turn the truck on I do see it flash on then go off

    I cut that light green wire that I taped up wit u blue tape when doing the caveman mod

    That is the correct wire for the Caveman mod, for sure. Did you use a 3-pole grounded switch when you tried it?
