My old Ranger was 90k and my Tundra is 120k.

 

Generally you just need to change them when it doesn't seem up to par on performance

 

I had an 01 4skinner. I sold it to my buddy with 140k on the clock. He is still running the same plugs and everything he hasn't done anything since he bought it from me in 2010..

 

I'll check everything out and see how she looks

 

I changed mine. My 2013 calls for copper plugs so the ly aren't good for alot of miles. The platinum and double platinum plugs go longer and iridium plugs are like 100 or more if I remember right

 

Check your owners manual. It has a really good schedule of what to do and when. I changed my plugs at 30k and just hit 60, so about to do them again. As well as front, rear diff and xfer case.

 

Its mainly the 30k intervals that have more than oil, and filters and lube. Some things depend on how the truck is used.

 

Interesting, did they change plug specs?

 

Yea they are iridium based what the head tech said at the dealership when I went for my 30k service

i'd honestly be skeptical of anything i hear at the dealer

 

but who knows, they could be right, maybe they know something we don't, if that weren't the case, they'd prob try to change your spark plugs as often as they could

 

My guess is they are still Densos but just an iridium tip since they are a newer model. But hey @k9cop 's are fine and his is a 2010

 

even after like 80-100K miles, i think people are starting to think, oh shit, i need to change my spark plugs, and then they pull them and find 3 ngk's and 3 denso's that were the original plugs, i didn't changed mine til shortly after i got the truck at 85K miles and the originals were in there, and i haven't changed them since, i'll prob do them at 150K miles

 

don't forget to to do the front diff and transfer case too

 

Agreed, every time I bring my truck to the dealership something new needs to be done to it. :annoying:

 

Not mine, 6 free oil changes and no issues. Only thing was the alternator which was my wrongdoing

 

LOL "was my wrongdoing" I like that. Do you run full synthetic oil?

 

No not yet, now that my oil changes aren't free I will be switching over to full synthetic

 

I was thinking I'd do that too, I've got to read up on it to see, I used to run Royal Purple in my past vehicles so who knows what they'll recommend. I just want her to last a while
