This is what I might need too, seat height is perfect for me, but the cushion feels flat and lacks support at the front. I feel that even an eigth or quarter inch higher on the front would be a huge improvement for me. Any higher and it would start to make the clutch pedal a pain in the ass to use - literally.

If anyone comes up with a safe, reliable way of raising the front of the seat bottom, I would give it a try. It's honestly my only big gripe about the truck.

Same here! I bought the truck yesterday afternoon, and immediately drove it 4 hours back home. I love everything about it, but found I kept wishing I could boost the front up just a little. I just found out either manual or automatic seat height adjustment comes standard on hilux models... thanks toyota?

Edit: A friend has the same model as I bought, but a 2011. I want to compare the two, as my last one was an auto and I sat in it totally different (my seat was always a lot farther back).

I always thought that was one of Toyota's signature quirks...the shallow seat position. That was the reason I bought my first Tacoma in 99.

I like the lower seat position too, and it didn't bother me in my 2012, but this one feels like I'm sitting on a flat bench. Lack of height adjistment aside, am I the only one that finds these seats uncomfortable?

someone dropped the ball on this,it looks like its probably going to be a deal breaker for me, feels like I'm sitting in a lowered car, the 4runner seat is the way it should be in my opinion, and I've been driving toy pickups since 87,good luck guys.

    Older quote but interesting.
Have an acquaintance who is 6'11". He was looking for any car short of a bus he could be comfortable. His final choice was. Dodge Dakota. He said the full size was fine but this was the smallest he could find. It was a older model and don't know where Dodge products are now. I would try any full size truck. Even if it isn't the Best Buy, it may be the best for you.

The 4runner is a tall suv cab. The Tacoma is a short truck cab. The Colorado is similar

I guess I'm not the total norm here. I like the overall seat height (or lack of), but am disappointed that I feel no real support under my thighs, and not a lot under my cheeks. I hope it's something I get over, and soon, but it wasn't exactly confidence inspiring when I asked my brother how he liked the truck and he said it was great besides the seats feeling about as comfortable as a park bench. His friend then got in and agreed.

I really hate that I feel this way. I love the truck and am awestruck every time I walk up to it, but then I sit down in it. I would honestly recommend a friend looking for a midsize to be very critical of the seats/seating position in the Tacoma. There were a lot of things I didn't like about the Canyon, but that wasn't one of them. Could there actually be something wrong with my seats?

I'm 6'2 240lbs and don't have any issues with headroom. Even with the sunroof. My seats feel good but I'm in a limited(leather). The only clearance issue that I have is that the steering wheel doesn't go up high enough for my tastes.. But I think I can reposition it better.

So the seats don't support your ass and legs? They aren't comfortable? Take it to an upholster and have them put new foam in the bottom.

This is the kind of answer I was hoping for, thanks. I will wait a bit to make sure I'm not just being super critical, but I will likely have to look at my options and try to make the ride more bearable. Obviously I have no idea what those options are at this point.

Do you not know that the steering wheel can be pushed forward and up... thus allowing your wife/GF (or both) more room for her head movement... Works for me..!!

I have a better idea of what is different between the second and third gen seats now. I traded my friend for his 11 dcsb 6mt for an hour or so (he wasn't upset for the chance to drive mine, moreso surprised I let him)

Anyways, the dimensions of the seats themselves are almost identical (length/width/side bolsters), but the side bolsters on his felt more firm and seemed to hold me in place more, and that perforated pad on the last gen seemed more pliable, like I was sitting in the seat instead of directly on top of it. I also noticed the third gen seats curve down at the front, while the second gens stay at the same angle right to the front edge. That's where I notice the lack of support under my legs.

I other things I noticed: clutch pedal and steering wheel and interior in general is way nicer on the third gems, even he was ecstatic about the upgrades!

I found the front of the seat to feel lower than my 2013, which is to bad because my 2013's felt low to begin with.

The even lower seating position and all black interior are deal breakers for me right now. I wish Canada had options for interior colour like the U.S.

You are not alone. I thought the seats and driving position in the canyon were much more comfortable then the taco. If you find an upholsterer able to boost up the front of the seat bottom, let me know, I would be very interested in your feedback, as it's definitely an issue for me too.
