Having trouble removing adhesive imprint..............

    How do I get rid of this? (see pic)...............I 1st used goof-off, then later on tried a scratch remover, and then rubbing compound.....all my other badges came off just fine w/out leaving anything....for those who have done this mod,what can I use to remove this?....

    Are you sure that it is sticky leftover not faded paint. just start off simple first.

    That ran across my mind.................the faded paint............thats sucks if thats the end result...............all my other emblems did not leave a mark on the truck...........

    Does that side of your truck recieve more sun light than the others. Think about where you park regularly. Also try rubbing compound or clay bar.

    That would probably be a good idea. Also there is an official detailing thread. That guy knows his stuff you will just have to wait for his response.

    Hold up there. A heat gun can and will burn the paint. Also the heat might soften the adhesive, it won't make it go away. Too much heat will just burn the adhesive on better.

    A good heavy cut cleaner will work. Meguiars should do the job and you used to be able to find that at any automotive store, not so sure anymore. I wouldn't recommend anything heavier unless you're experienced. I think the next step up is Diamond cut any I'll never use it on any of my vehicles.

    Use to and go over it with a rotary buffer (NOT ORBITAL) with a fairly low speed so you don't heat things up. Smooth it out with a fine cut cleaner and you should be good to go. Don't forget to wax. If you don't have a buffer, you might be able to use the heavy cut cleaner by hand, but it will take awhile.

    I used wd40 after fishing line then this little square plastic dish scraper thing the wife had that had nice smooth edges on it for a couple stubborn spots, then waxed it. No discoloration, no scratches, just gone.
