I live in Chattanooga but spend a lot of time in Winchester for work. And by a lot I mean for the rest of the year probably more time in Winchester.

Oh I can write a good story. I'll even use big words and proper grammar. That should win some votes. I'd vote for it. Haha

Thankfully not, haven't pulled the skids for painting or alignment either though. I'm way behind on catching up. Wifey/work has had me so busy I've been neglecting my truck.

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
Making a list of parts for when I lift the truck.

Do you think alignment tabs really need to be reinforced? It's nearly $100 for the weld on tabs from Chaosfab.

    What about spindle gussets?

What is the order of priority for skids? Front, mid, dif, lca... sliders in there somewhere...

    IMHO
1: you can get away without them for a while, especially considering how new your truck is.
2: good idea, but you can put that further down on the list for later.
3: sliders, front skid, LCA, diff, exhaust reroute, mid & t-case skids.

You can weld up your stock tabs now to reinforce them... as far as a spindle gusset I wouldn't be worried about it unless you plan on wheeling some super hardcore stuff.

Skids I would do front/ifs then sliders and as money becomes available do trans then transfer case skid.

I agree with what's been mentioned. The cam tabs are a bit of a problem on our trucks if you wheel a lot/hard. Having said that it took me 7+ years to finally fuck up tabs and need to weld new ones. It's more pre runners that have this problem and people who don't have skids to protect them. The best thing you can do is get your alignment where you want then tac weld the cam. It's very easy to grind off a tac weld for an adjustment if needed.

Spindle gussets once again are also more for pre runners. It takes a pretty hard hit to bend them. Yes you could do it trail riding but it's less likely, especially if you don't wheel hard in the rocks. I have some gussets that have sat in my garage for 4 years now. One of these days they may go on. Haha

Ifs skid is by far the most important skid. I can take a pic of mine right now and show you why I say that. Lca skids I'd put second just because in the rocks, you constantly scrape your lcas and protecting an important suspension part just sounds like a good idea. Both of these skids also protect your cam tabs. This last trip, I hit something hard enough to break all 3 bolts holding the lca skid on, loosen my cam bolt and grind smooth the cam tabs. Imagine if I didn't have the skid on to take the initial hit ......

I've yet to find a need for a tcase skid or a trans skid. The tcase has a little stock skid on it and yes it gets it all the time but it looks brand new still compared to my ifs skid. The trans has never been touched. Rear diff skid is a good thing to have if you like the rocks a lot. I def couldve used one this past trip and I've got a good amount of wear on it now and will eventually be replacing the housing because of it. A driveshaft skid is also a good idea as I def could've used one this past trip as well. I'll be building one of those sooner then later

And almost forgot sliders. If you trail ride with any kind of purpose, meaning you came to offroad your truck and not just look at the pretty birds, you HAVE to have sliders. Rocks or no rocks, you will use them constantly on the trails and you will love every second of it. I would put sliders at the top of the food chain. With no ifs skid, you still have a cross member to take a hit. You can also drive to where you aren't just smashing into things. With no sliders, you have all truck body to take a hit and 90% of the time you use them, there was no driving differently.

I'll be going on my 2nd drive shaft here shortly... also on your dented axle housing, I may have an idea. If you take the rear diff out you can then take a solid round bar and hit the dents out from the inside the best you can. Then build a skid for it
