I really hope that none of you guys think I'm being a "trail nazi" or anything, but this trail has claimed Toyotas on this forum before (for vehicle breakage), as well as other makes for worse reasons. In the spring of 2013, less than a week after the first ever JeepAndrew Rug Road Run, a guy in a jeep died in a rollover near the bottom of Carpet Hill. His jeep is still 250 feet down in the bottom of a ravine and there's a memorial for him there. Granted, there was alcohol involved, but the spot he went over *can* be gnarly under the right circumstances. All over the 4x4 forums are stories and pics of near-miss occurences and full fledged oh-shit accidents. Rug Road does have some infamy.

Not being able to prerun this year means this trail will be a surprise for me, and possibly for the whole group as well. We might end up doing some tricky spotter assisted crawling and obstacle navigating in spots, depending on how good (or bad) monsoon season was to the trail.

I just want the day to go smooth so we as a group can enjoy the scenery, historic and interesting sites along the trail, and not roll into camp after 10pm to gather up help for a vehicle recovery.

Anyone else find the work week leading up to an epic wheeling weekend to be a complete and utterly shitty, drown out, suicide inducing nightmare? Friday really needs to hurry the fk up.
