if those reports make you feel good, and you base your buying decision on them, then good for you. Myself, I have owned domestic as well as foreign (Japanese) vehicles. My last Chevy car I sold with 350,000 km on it, motor/transmission/driveline all original. Never even changed the trans fluid, as per owners manual recommendation.

Tits or tires, they are both going to cost you money!

It's not that it makes me feel good, it's more the constant shit talking from the Twins fans on this site. You can sure as hell bet if the Tacoma was on this list (legitimate or not) we'd have 50+ new members just to rub it in our faces, never mind the ones already here grasping at straws.

Agreed. Toyota is my choice on re sell value alone. All else being equal I probably would buy a gm. Used tacos around here are crazy. Example 1: 2013 trd sport, dcsb (manual trans here in Canada) 114,000 km $29,000

I'm buying a 16 Tacoma because I know it will be worth 95% of what I gave for it 3 years from now. I cannot say that about the 6 month old 15' Chevy Colorado I'm trading in next Monday. I'll take my $22,000 now and cut my loses with GM.

Wasn't my intention to offend anyone. My apologies.

FWIW I bought a Chrysler product in January that is also on the list. I looked hard at the Colorado/Canyon vs. Tacoma.
If I would have done more research and listened to some of these reports I wouldn't be dealing with the problem that I bought.

I sure am glad that it is working out and I am getting into a new Tacoma. I owned a 2002 TRDOR and put about 200,000 miles on it. I sure hope the "turd gens" follow suit.

350000kms (160000mi) is great, you should be ecstatic with that brother.

350,000 miles is 217,480 miles. Not sure who taught you about the metric system...
    And I'm not your brother

    Apology accepted.

Just trying to make a point that you can't go by these reports of certain brands being unreliable. Any major auto maker these days makes a good product. And they all have their issues.
I am with you guys though, the Tacoma is my first choice in the category.

Yes, but the Colorado also made Consumer Reports' "20 Worst Cars For Reliability" list landing at # 8 on the list.

I think that was the point of this post. OP was referring to top 20, as the worst list
