I have a set of Cooper Discover AT/3 that I absolutely love. But they have an issue. I can't keep air in the damn things. I've had valve stems replaced, I've had them checked for leaks and nothing. Am I missing something?

Shop probably missed the leak. Might be to slow to detect with water and soap. May need to have the tire removed from the wheel and check the inside of the tire for something sticking through.

Aluminum wheels sometimes leak through the aluminum.

Yeah , is it 1 tire? All 4 ? Maybe an issue with rims & that particular tire or tires themselves I mean your rims were fine with old tires correct ?

    All the time!!!
Do it the old fashion way, pull the wheel off and just put in water, a large bucket. That's how it was done before the soap & water. Just stand it up in the water and watch for bubbles in the water, if its leaking you'll see it. inspection_medium.jpg

Possibly ill-fitting TPMS modules like this member experienced, or the valve cores not tightened?

I had an issue with the metal oxidizing under the coating on the factory rims. Made it impossible to maintain a good seal around the bead on all 4 tires. The solution was new rims while I had the factory rims blasted and then painted.

You are missing something...AIR in your tires! j/k What wheels are you using? Are they stock or aftermarket? Steel or aluminum? Do you have the sensors installed or did you replace them with regular valve stems? How old are the tires? Have you checked the rims for corrosion as suggested already? If you don't want to take the wheels/tires off and dunk them in water you can put a mixture of soap and water in a spray bottle and spray around the bead on the front and back while watching for "bobbles" or bubbles. Not a permanent solution but I've used a product called Slime to stop a bead leak at least temporarily. It is a bit of a mess when you do get a proper repair done though.

I have a slow leak on one of my factory rims as well. Too slow for a leak test to reveal but I have to put air in the tire about once a month.

It's the driver side tires. Both front and rear.

Ok so I took the truck to the shop this morning and guess what, they couldn't find anything. So I asked about the possibility of a slow leak around the rim and they said they would not take each tire off the rim. As for who asked, I have the factory rims and it's the second set of tires. New rims are not in the question so I guess I'll have to figure something else out. Thank you for all the help/suggestions.

Yes, never had an issue with the factory tires and this problem just started within the last year.

The shop you took them to would not take each tire off and check for the leak? Did you buy the tires from them or did they mount the tires? Any shop will do it. (but you might have to pay for it).

They would not take the tire physically off the rim. Im sorry if I wasnt clear. All the shop did was mount the tires when I bought them.

I know pretty much nothing about tires. Maybe taking the tires off and back on is bad for getting a good seal the 2nd time? Sucks man. Good luck. My next noob resonse would be Nitrogen Filled. Maybe try that?

When they are checking for a slow leak are they adding any more air to your tire. If they are ckecking the tire with only 35 psi it may not show up. Have them put 50-60 psi in it and check it. If it is leaking around the bead there is a product called bead sealer they can use.
