So if I get rid of Vista when my Windows 7 upgrade disc comes, and I decide to override Vista, all of my files will be lost?

if im understanding what your saying that is correct. the best thing to do is back up all your files (burn to dvd or use external hard drive) when you 7 comes in install it and combine all partitions of your existing hard drive to make one big one and just make you own organizing system in 7 with folders and libraries. thats what i did.

Installing windows 7 deleted all your music?

That sounds odd.... why would it delete the music files?

Are you sure its not still there...you just need to point the computer/itunes where the music is??

Just curious... we just ordered windows 7.

I have used this many time for the same reason you need it. You browse your ipod like its a drive and just drag everything over to your filesystem then plop back into itunes.

Cool. Im glad you got it working. I have 64GB of perfectly organized MP3s and I lost them once and ANAPOD saved my ass. Now I have them backed up in about 4 places on 4 different USB drives in 4 different geographical location.

    Wait. I was wrong.

    Yeah. Losing MP3s stinks.

I have a lot of time in ripping mp3s from CDs.

Yeah, itunes suck especially if you let it organize your collection. Go out and buy yourself an external hard drive and put all your music on that. Change the settings so itunes doesn't organize it.

My husband and I organize our collection on an external, and its soooooo much easier and itunes isn't 'as flakey'

Glad you got the tunes back!
