    $15 Zerex 675130 Zerex Asian Vehicle Red Silicate and Borate Free 50/50 Prediluted Ready-to-Use Antifreeze/Coolant 1 GA
    Zerex 675130 Asian Vehicle Antifreeze will work too, and about $10 a gallon cheaper than Toyota Genuine Fluid 00272-SLLC2 Long Life Coolant. The Pentofrost A4 is about $4 more per gallon and harder to find. The important thing is that any coolant you put in has no silicates or borates. A different color coolant that doesn't specify Asian or Toyota vehicles is risking damage to the cooling system.

    Here's what I got off their spec sheet on their website about Pentofrost A4. "Pentofrost A4 does not contain any silicate, borate, nitrite or amine containing additives since these may harm your Asian vehicle."

    Sorry I didn't bother to read but I've been using only Toyota stock oil filters with Mobil 1 and RP a couple times.... Had the oil analyzed after 10K miles and said I still had plenty of any wear properties in the oil. I've also noticed that the stock filters are taller than aftermarket equivalents... I bought the filters and drain plug washer in a 10 pack from the dealer to save a few bucks and didn't bring it with me when I moved and had to use an aftermarket.... Went with a Wix. I'll let yall know if I find any differences in the oil sample with this filter in comparison if I can remember in another 10,000....
    I got an 06 with 85,000 miles :notsure: I don't drive her much.

    Does it matter what ATF PS fluid I top off with its a bit low and again its filled with Toyota OEM stuff which apparently is

    All I know is make sure whatever you use is WS (TOYOTA) equivalent
    Which I sadly (after using it) found out Royal Purple WS is not Toyota WS
    I since then flushed and put in Valvoline Max Life atf which is according to the bottle... Toyota WS approved.

    There are tall aftermarket oil filter equivalents, but I believe amount, type, and durability of filter media is a better indicator of filtration characteristics. Haven't joined the camp that says more filter media is better. There is more to a filter than just the amount of filter. What good is it if the paper fails? Rather use a cheaper filter more often then an expensive one less often. It's cool you're doing the analysis, data is always good to have. Your truck is young!

    Takes Dextron II or Dextron III ATF. So any compatible ATF that is Dextron II/III will work. I used Valvoline Maxlife ATF. OEM ATF fluid is

    Made my first trip to Toyota today going against all my prior knowledge of people telling me never to pay dealer costs. I got my coolant and PS fluid from the parts counter for $26

    My dealer will cut a really good discount if you buy OEM filters in bulk, it's worth asking yours.

    I use Prestone All Makes coolant, Mobile 1 for the engine, Redline for diff's and Valvoline Maxlife ATF for the tranny. Toyota lost me many years ago with their high prices on fluids.

    One can never have too many light bars.
    I know that the toyota oil filter is touted because it has more material in the filter but has any research been done that says it works the best? I use a bosch distance plus filter and according to bobistheoilguy it's top notch. Its smaller than the oem filter but it has a much higher quality material inside.

    Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
    Toyota oil filters are made by Denso, they are definitely a quality filter but the Bosch is better for long oil change intervals because they are supposed to filter up to 99% microns in the oil which makes them more desirable for extended drains.
