i have an 07" double cab.

i wanna put a lift kit on my truck and know very little about them. I think I just wanna go 2"

any recommendations? don't need anything fancy, don't care what it looks like

also, if I lift it 2" does that allow me to go to a bigger tire size?

i don't offroad for recreation, though i do live in the country on a rough road and i do go off-road for firewood and stuff like that. i'd like to go the budget route but wouldn't want to put crap parts on my truck.

Just do spacers and a block. I'd say they're fine for all the stuff you wanna do.

5100's front and rear, 884 springs up front, should get you 2"-2-1/4" I think, AAL out back. 885 or 887 springs, get you +/-2.5"-3", respectively, but you will want new UCAs at 3", 2.5" is hit or miss

no new UCA's needed for this height lift with 884s, *for most trucks*

    No diff drop needed either

    Its all opinions, but whatever.

Look OP, if you got blown shocks, you might as well replace them with Billies that will give you a 3in lift so you can fit 33s. HOWEVER, if you don't wanna go that expensive and your shocks are fine, just go spacers. Everyone hates them on here, but really, they're fine.

You could just buy Bilstein 5100 struts and shocks and set the fronts to 1.5" lift and leave the back where it is. By reusing your stock coils and leaf springs you would save money on parts and shipping. It would eliminate the stock rake and you could run 265/75/16 or 265/70/17 tires.

like I said, i know very little about lifting. i assume with the blocks, what ever size block you put in there is your lift in inches and the block is doing the actual 'lift' and with the kit linked above, going that route, the new shocks, springs, leafs will lift the truck and therefore you don't need blocks?

Best advice for what OP is looking for I think. To be fair though, you can run those tires without lift, I am.

OP, what tire size are you looking to fit? Do you want to cut and trim or no?

True, but based on his question I didn't think he had much of an appetite for trimming so wouldn't suggest going over those sizes, even with that lift.

Most people run that size without trimming. I bought my truck new and put 265/75R16s on two weeks later. No rubbing, no trimming required. Bone stock.

i'm not looking to cut any trim. i'm not an off-road guy, i don't do any crawling or anything like that. i bought the truck off a guy in knoxville,,, city dweller, flat lander. he had Michelin 265/70/r16's on it, it's such a smooth ride i wanted to get my money out of those tires. by default I know I can go to a 265/75 without doing anything. but i want to raise it a little in the process as well.

Do thorough research. Add more details about your truck to your profile too.

Billstein 5110s have .85, 1.75 and 2.5 average lift settings. Regular cabs and access cabs and 4 banger that are relatively stock will get more lift than average. Look into Firestone ride rite airbags as an option for the rear if you tow a trailer or haul firewood. You can gain some height with the bags to match the front if needed, as well as carrying loads better.

The "true" part of my last post was me agreeing with you. I agree that you can fit that size on most stock trucks but adding a small lift doesn't necessarily mean you can fit a bigger tire than that without trimming.
