the color paint was the exact oem paint that came from factory, the inside of the doors was in perfect shape, they just blended in to the door jams and between the cab and bed, etc.they did open the doors and blend it, not just tape off the exterior (lol, cab still has REALLY strong paint smell!) and remove the tailgate, fender flares, grille, and few other little odds and ends, then painted the truck and then paint them and reassemble. it took almost 2 weeks. (side note, kinda upset me a little when i was giving updates on progress and other members were ribbing on me for not having pics yet while it was still being worked on, thats not really fare guys :( )

nice point about the wheel wells, thanks for pointing that out! looking at it again your right! when its safe to use some cleaners, and i know the paint has cured, i'll get in there and clean it real well and paint them.

now that you mentioned the wheel wells, i also notices the plastic piece between the front doors and the rear view mirrors is obviously worn. any ideas on that?

damn i never saw those, they are awesome! wonder if he would do a price break on them if i traded my new housings and i dont need the bulbs and ballast mine are already better than what he sells and prefer using them if they fit. a few hundred off and i may be able to swing that after a couple more paychecks, i pretty much used up all the funds i set aside for this project, and with Christmas coming, yeesh, lol

Get your paid off well working truck and do a facelift instead of having a truck payment ya not a stupid idea at all. Chevy guys do that all the time. Looks good hopefully when they redo the tacoma you can redo the facelift in a few years, God knows your truck will still be running

Howdy everybody! I was in an accident several months ago, but I'm back on my feet again :) . (not in the Tacoma, I got caught in a machine) Anyway, I never got to post pics of her with her new shoes, so here she is :)

(FYI) For those thinking about fitment, wheels are 17" x 7.5" Toyata FJ Trail Ed. with 15mm offset, tires BFG Mud Terrain KM2 285/70/17, Lift is 3" coils in front and Dakar 3" AAL in back, stock UCA's. No spacers used, No rubbing on UCA, with no mud flaps no rubbing at all even with wheel turned all the way unless you start flexing alot.

Thanks bro! For the well wishs and complement on my truck. I checked out your build to, I love it! I love when a truck is done right like that, with all well thought out top picks on equipment/mods so the performance is killer and still looks so clean! Great job!

Just an update. Another addition to Tacoma 'upgrade'. I got ahold of some new OEM seat covers from a guy at dealership. Someone wanted leather package and when they removed the OEM TRD Sport fabric I got them! :) The seats are not PERFECT, because after dissasembling my original seats I realized that the foam was compacted somewhat. But still I think improvement, over the almost 10 year old interior. After installing the new seat covers, it made me see how bad my door panels, roof panel and carpet really look! So I guess thats next! :) Figured I would share.

This is gorgeous, and is an awesome testament to just taking care of your truck and refreshing it every once in a while, as opposed to just buying a new one when it wears out a bit.

Good on you - sub'd for your continued progress!

Truck looks great. I replaced my interior with Katzkins last year but I never used the dark graphite door inserts because my truck was pretty much new. Too bad I am in Canada I could have given you a good deal on them.

Thanks bro! I am the same way, for 20 years every truck, jeep, bronco i have ever built, when I buy tires to upgrade, they have always been BFG! Even on my ex's "girl jeep wrangler" we had some little BFG All-Terrain's. Even her little All-Terrains performed surprising well. BFG's work very well in in Mud, Sand, Rocks, and last for years on the road! I sold a set of 35/12.50/15 Mud Terrain's I had on one of my jeeps, which at the time i drove about 2 or 3 days a week going to and from work and normal daily stuff when the weather was good for about 2.5 years and when they guy came by the house to get them he said they looked brand new! BFG makes some really good tires.

THIS IS ONE REASON WHY YOU NEED A BULL BAR! Walked out of work tonight and found someone hit my truck! After doing some recon, the obviously hit from the left corner going right. It bent the bumper brackets, and broke some plastic retainers and clips shifting everything to the right, and put an imprint and scratches on the bumper cover. And dinged up the westin bull bar pretty good in a few spots. Obviously it was a white car! The brackets and clips and stuff I already have along with many other extra parts from mod, but that was a hard hit! I already had my paint guy lined up to fix the damn dents and stuff the acorns did to the hood this year so painting bumper cover in addition won't be but probably extra $100 bux. Without the bull bar I added, I'd be in way worse trouble, LOL! It sucks, ALOT but fixable... however if I find the owner of the white car, not so sure he will be so fixable, LOL! (that was a joke). Just glad it was not worse. :)

Got lucky, bull bars normally bend from a shopping cart bumping into them.
