I left the factory head unit also (non JBL). I put in an Alpine brick amp behind the head unit and Infinity three-ways in the doors. HUGE difference.

Thanks! But it was a heart and double lung shot. Slightly quartered away at 75 yards.

Oh yeah lol, he ran MAYBE 30 yards, towards my treestand, and crumbled up while still in the field. Doesn't get much easier than that haha

Always nice when they drop before they've had time to realize what just happened. Better meat. Better for the animal. So far all of mine have been this way over the years.

Helped "chase" down and put down a white tail someone else shot on the leg once..... That poor thing ran on three legs for a while. We let it bed down so we could get close enough to put it down.

We weren't too happy with the original shooter.

It sure is better. I had to change ammunition for this year. I was using Federal Premium trophy bonded tip rounds in my .308 last year and didn't realize that because the deer here in south Alabama are so thin, there is not enough mass for the bullet to expand. My rounds were just punching pencil sized holes in the deer and I lost 3 last year due to that. We found all of them a week or more after I shot, no more than 150 yards away, but in all three cases, there was no blood anywhere near where they were shot at. Made me sick to my stomach that it happened. So far, 1 for 1 on dropping them in the field with the trusty Sierra Gameking ammunition. And yes, the tenderloins from this smaller buck are AMAZING!

    Yum! Tenderloins :)

I used to hunt with the ex-FIL. We had pretty sweet access to a private ranch. I used an OLD .270 he had. Literally one round through it each year. The thing could drill dimes. Was an old Ruger .270 IIRC. Great little rifle.

I either need to buy a good hunting rifle or break in and trick or my black rifle so I can hunt with it.

If only this Tacoma would stop spending my monies...

Oh I feel you. What extra money I do have after my wife gets a hold of it goes into my "truck fund" or some more hunting goodies. If you are looking for a very good, relatively cheap rifle, I suggest looking at Savage Arms. I have a Savage model 10 in .308 that I got from Bass Pro for around $350 brand new. Shoots about 1" groups at 100 yds.

Not today, but recently picked this up for my Taco from another member on here. Leer 100R I think, in the correct paint code!
Also soldered up a new audio plug for my auxiliary adapter to replace the only one, which had loose connections. Works like a champ now!

12141517091.JPG55555.jpg Well Dupli-Coated my emblems black three months ago and it was starting to peal off in places, so I de-coated, and de-chromed them, painted them gloss black with clear coat on top. Got finished with the painting yesterday, and just got finished putting them on today. :)
