    I used that same site this past year!! great camp spot away from people up that hill.

    Did you have to make supports for the CVT to sit on top your snugtop? Ive heard people saying the weight of the RTT could crack the toppers, curious because its an awesome setup and i might go a similar route if we decide to get a RTT for my rig

    Yeah it's an awesome spot! hidden enough that no one knows its there unless they know haha.

    As for the topper, we didn't add any additional supports. Its the Snugtop XTR so it has the rails built into it and they are super stout. Best I can tell the shell is reinforced from the factory and is much thicker than the old fiberglass topper I used to have on my T-100. My old topper used to flex if I put any weight on the roof but this one is rock solid even with my 220lb ass up on it. I have seen a few non-reinforced toppers with tons of spidering and cracks near the top and corners of the shell from too much weight so I was a little leery about putting 500-600lbs on the roof. So far we haven't heard so much as a pop or creak out of it even if I try. I am always checking for any new cracks or signs of stress and luckily, have still yet to see anything.

    My best advice is if you do get a hard topper to put a RTT on try to get ahold of one that is built stout from the factory. They are on the heavy side but the structural integrity is worth it in my opinion. I'll keep an eye on it and update if there are any issues creeping up.

    Yea we were impressed that's for sure! And yea that's what scares me though is hitting something tall enough like that.. that's gotta be terrifying! And the bumper is made of steel. I'm not sure if they make an aluminum version of it yet. But I bet it's amazing up where you are! My husband and I want to make a trip up there! Any pointers on best places to go?

    Sweet thanks for letting me know! And it definitely is an awesome place, especially for Tacomas lol. And I would definitely stop in Anchorage just to get a feel for the city here, but a trip to Denali National Park is a must, which is amazing. There's even a lottery you can enter to win to drive your personal vehicle into the park, about 85 miles on a dirt road to Wonder Lake. The Seward Highway is also very scenic, its not the longest but still worth it. Something I really want to do that Im yet to is to drive the Dalton Highway.

    If you haven't seen it already I would definitely recommend watching Expedition Overlands Alaska/Yukon Series, they take their Tacoma and Land Cruiser up here and explore all over. It's a pretty awesome series.
