FYI TRD S/C Owners..........Check your coolant pumps. Mine went out this past week and luckily I noticed. I found out while working on the truck and having the key in the 'ON' position. No noise was coming from the pump. Tested the pump and it was dead.

I changed out the pump to a Johnson CM30 pump. Fits in stock location, just need to drill out another hole for the clamp. I had to trim about 1/2" off each end of the coolant hoses. This pump is probably half the diameter of the stock one and pumps about the same. Only other major difference is the Johnson pump is louder....but easier to hear that it is still working.

Yea it turns on every so often. I wanna say we had a discussion on one of the SC threads about upgrading the pump for more GPM. I'm guessing that would help keep everything cool more, not sure about an actual HP increase, but who knows. Would definitely keep coolant temps down. But hen again, If I was gonna do that I'd do a larger radiator and pump at the same time

There have been a few. The only one I detail that I can remember is that the Ford Lightening pump is a direct replacement. Which should mean that there are upgrades for that as well.

Interesting. Wonder if it would be beneficial to replace that with a higher flow pump when I add water/meth injection...

I have had my S/C on my truck since around 2009. Truck has about 203k on the odometer, with around 100k or so with the S/C on. Just checked my friends pump on his 07 with the S/C on since 2010 and his pump was dead as well. Both pumps have died out within the past few weeks.

Ford Lightning and MB e55 both use similar pumps to the TRD one. There are a few different ones that people upgrade or run compared to the Bosch.

I am also looking at upgrading my heat exchanger to a shorter but much thicker core and a larger coolant reservoir. Similar to armyoffoo's set-up

So I am planning on buying the AFE stage 2 intake for my supercharger pretty soon here. Does anybody on here have that same set up and know if my new redline hood struts will clear the side of the intake?

Also, is it worth spending all that money on an intake? For right now I have the stock intake with a K&N air filter and I'm wondering if I will see a decent jump in throttle response or power switching to an AFE

Sweet, did you notice a decent gain in throttle response or power after you installed that?

I had the intake installed, before the truck left the dealership.

I installed the s/c maybe a year later, so I would be hard pressed to tell you.

Hey John, as you see it fits with the struts, a few other people have the set up too. I put my stage 2 in about a couple months ago. I'd say you can feel it a little, nothing major like adding the s/c obviously but it's there lol. You can definitely hear it which I think is pretty sweet. For me, I knew I was gonna add that cover made by @Coupe because it dresses up the engine bay so well, I wanted the added growl, and most importantly I knew I'd upgrade the exhaust to the urd mark lll at some point. I figure between the cai and bigger exhaust, I want to get everything I can out of the s/c (minus doing the smaller pulley/ bigger fuel pump stuff).

Good information, thanks! And from what I've read on here, you can drop to the 2.85 pulley with no issues and without having to do a fuel pump, and doing so will actually improve your AFR. That's what I plan on doing soon

I saw the same thing...in fact I believe I asked the guys that really know about that stuff that exact question. If I personally did anything else it would just be a slightly smaller pulley, one that that wouldn't enable having to put in a bigger f/p.
I got my cai for 340 from auto anything.com. They priced matched and gave me free shipping. I found the thread I used in "deals and coupons" on the second page. The only problem is the link doesn't take you to the cai you need to use to do the price matching. If you look for it maybe itl work for you.

That's a pretty reasonable price. What intake do you have? I've been looking into the AFE stage 2 and pretty much everywhere I look they seem to be around $450

Afe stage ll pro dry s. It was a great price. When you get it make sure you do get the dry filter. I hear the oil on the wet ones can hamper the Maf sensor.
