Honestly it feels exactly the same as stock, just taller.

i feel your pain ouch, I had to crank my extended travels up to 2.25" driver side, 2" passenger side just to get two inches out of the set-up. It is stiff as hell and I constantly contacted Icon and never got anywhere with them. On the 1.75" setting I only got 1.5" of lift, from talking with some guys on here they suggested switching out the springs. Going to have to do something, just took her on an 1100 mile road trip and it about beat me to death with the stiffness. Smooth roads fine, rough roads you feel EVERYTHING.

Hey guys hoping some one could clear this up for me. I'm looking at the Toytec BOSS kit. Is it a 3" or 2" lift? I have read both so I'm not sure. Thanks

That's cause you guys have the suspension at the top of its cycle. You guys don't get a "lift", you just change where your truck rides in the suspension stroke. Sounds like you are topping out over bumps, and hell, you might even have coil slap on the upstroke if you have the coils that buckled down.
    Perhaps try a stiffer spring.

    • Nice truck.
    • King > Icon > Boss.
    • Body lift is garbage. Don't get one.
    • 305s won't fit without cab mount chop and trimming the fender liners.
    • No need for gear upgrade unless you're getting 35s.
    • Just my opinions.

So you would get the Icon stage 2 over the Boss kit?

I absolutely would but thats just my personal opinion. The reason I would is because I had a friend with a Toytec lift on his 2nd gen taco and I rode in it a lot and drove it a time or two. It was a nice suspension but he now has a 5th gen 4 runner with Icons and it rides and drives noticeably better in my opinion.

Thanks man I appreciate the input. would you run Icon stage 2 without replacing the UCAs? I can do them eventually but my current budget is around 2k. I was hoping a body lift could get me around the cab mount chop. that's just what toytec did to their 2016. trimming inner fender plastic is one thing but Im not quite ready to cut the frame just yet. maybe in a bit though.

If its installed on a 2015 its 3 inches the 2016 its only two inches because the truck comes one inch taller. So if you throw it on a 2016 it will be the same height of a 2015 with the same kit2. I was in the same boat. Manufacturers weren't making it very clear. I was hoping the truck would sit 4 inches higher than second gen after I was done but that is not the case.

Hey Guys, so over the weekend I found out some interesting info. For the past few months, I have been driving my 16 with an Icon Stage 5 lift, 285/70 R17's, minus the UCA's, mainly due to not having the time to install them. Anyhow, I hadn't experienced any rubbing what so ever. Then, Saturday I finally got around to installing my Icon tubular UCA's and took the truck in for an alignment. When I got it back, truck drove straight but was rubbing the back of the fender well big time. So, I spoke to the tech and we determined that this was due to the Castor. We put the truck back on the rack, and adjusted the castor angle in the opposite direction. Still well in spec, and no more rubbing.

Anyhow, I thought this might be helpful for those who are running into some rubbing issues. My wheels have 4.45" back spacing and 0mm offset, and with the castor now set, I don't have any rubbing and the truck drives perfectly straight, while the steering wheel always returns to center after a turn as it should. So, before you go cutting anything, have your alignment shop play with the castor, moving the front wheels forward while still staying in factory spec's. Just proved today that it is totally possible and I am back to not having any rubbing.

Hopefully this is helpful to those of you running into some rubbing issues.

That's where I failed. Printer was out of ink and I forgot to take a picture of the screen. Sorry guys. Everything was however int he green. My bad for not getting a pic of the actual spec's

This is my experience too at a 2" and 1.75. Pretty firm at this setting definitely would not want any firmer. Ok for street but wouldn't want to be going on any long trips off road.

Im also deciding if I just want to go through the hassle of switching my springs or maybe just selling these coilovers and getting something else.

After my alignment I have less rubbing issues too but still rub at full lock when shock is compressed
