I just used some cheapies from the local auto parts store, because I mounted them on my receiver hitch and figure they'll get crushed sooner or later.

 

That's a sweet switch setup! I've pulled the trigger on a bumper purchase, and will be adding some lighting at the same time. Where did you find this switch panel? Any info on this mod would be greatly appreciated!

 

Got the Pods hooked up and mounted for fogs. Super bright!

Wait, I am confused. The 8" diff and the 8.4" diff are not the same.

Your info says your truck is a factory TRD. If that is accurate and that is the axle housing you are asking about, then you have the 8" diff and your axle housing is an ABS housing. Even if your truck does not have ABS.

 

He has the 4 banger TRD package with no locker (from another post). He has a "no slip" or "lock right" or something like it. Have to assume he has an 8.4 non ABS rear. The previous pic in Mr BDN's link should make the 2 types apparent to him.

 

bogs froze solid. You can drive to ponds and ice fish outa the truck.




Also found out that while holding the brake the abs system does a pretty good job of keeping both front tires spinning on ice.

 

Hey, didn't do any mod's to the truck today, but had a interesting offer presented to me. met a guy that wants to get his truck back to stock and trade me a set of near new 33's on decent aluminum rims for my stock rims and tires. easy decision I know. heres my issue I only have a two inch lift on the truck and I'm concerned about getting into needing spacers to prevent the rub, any advice on how they would fit and if they will fit would be greatly appreciated

 

A picture would help and specs that you know of the wheels

That's interesting. I thought that TRD was considered Locked rear if your a 4x4 or prerunner. Maybe someone could educate me on this. But the with the 8.4 and non abs housing is what I have on my 02 prerunner ,non trd, 2.7 auto.

All I know is 8" is TRD, 8.4" is non TRD, and the 4 banger didnt get a locker

Some 4 bangers had it but most dont.

 

Ride height really won't help rubbing as much as wheel backspacing. Chances are if he's a first gen running them without spacers as well, you won't need spacers. You might however need to smash/cut the pinch weld a little.
