    Sup fullas,

Plenty of threads out there on what to look for when shopping for a Taco...but are there any things in particular to look for with the Reg Cabs?

Also I have a question re: the bench vs buckets seats. My wife has a bad back and gets sore in car seats over time. Is the bench seat better maybe?

    Cheers in advance!

Well, start by looking for only 2 doors. :D Sorry, couldn't help myself.

I like the bucket seats. I believe it was '09+ when they changed it where buckets only came with auto trans and bench seats with manuals. I could be wrong.

more cab space, such as an access cab or double cab.
if your wife has a bad back a regular cab wont be comfortable for her no matter what seats you get

But if it's the buckets why should it matter? Same seats in the other grades, no?

Ah yeah, didn't think of this. She would be pissed if she couldn't kick back and sleep during a long drive. Also now i think of it I would always have to drive if we got the bench seat as she would have to pull the seat so far forward..

Ah well, cheers guys given me more to think about

Nope. They 2 types of Bucket seats 1- standard and 1- for the TRD models.
Make sure you look at the standard seats and test drive in them prior to purchase is getting buckets.

Actual, with the bucket seats in my truck, you can recline pretty far, there is quite a bit of room in these Regular Cab trucks. The bench seat is not as adjustable.

My bench seat is just fine for me, but I don't really drive more than 30 minutes at a time. Never rode in buckets before. Other than seating, I think the regular cabs are great. Good luck finding one.

Wife loves the AC and the buckets. Says the seat supports her lumbar/sciatica issues much better than the '04 Highlander. Go figure.

Ive disliked every bench seat I've ever had. If i cant recline a bit, im an unhappy camper.

There is a simple mod to make the bench seat recline. I have tried it and if it weren't for this find, I would have traded my truck in this year for something else. I can now recline it and sleep in the truck or sometimes when I just want to relax in the park. So I wouldn't exclude the bench seat just yet.

Here's I'd look for: Keep looking. I never drove a regular cab that wasn't cramped, with no room except for your lunch box.

The regular cabs are obviously strapped for space more so than ACs and DCs but the 2nd gen Tacoma RCS are suprisingly roomy. I had a 2012 Ram RC that wasn't that much larger feeling. My '14 is worlds roomier and more comfortable than my '92 Pickup was.

As long as you don't carry a ton of weather sensitive items or people, the RC with a toolbox is more than adequate.

plus you tend to leave less junk in your truck than if you have more room. I went from a double cab to a regular and even though sometimes space is limited i make it work. I also just got a tool box so it will help.
