Can you show photos of the wiring? I have a connector from the previous owner, in the bed with a little 5 amp fuse, but the ends don't match my topper. Did you get correct connectors from SnugTop?

Can you supply me with the specs on those shocks? Also what leafs and hangers your running.
Curious how much room you have between the tires and shocks when your flexed like that.

    Thanks!

You don't have to use a c clamp I used the clamps that came with the stock boots I'd trust the pinch clamp more than the c clamp!

I'd trust the c-clip over the clamp personally. The c-clip sits in a groove that is on OEM axle shafts, not allowing the extra piece made from the old boot to slide back.

The clamps inside the boot? I just threw away the c clamp in the small end of the boot that wasn't holding CV grease anymore. Put a hose clamp over it until I can get a new boot.

Really?! every one that I have seen has put the c clamp over the flange which just doesn't look right.

No if you get the high angle boots and do the boot slide mod you need to save the small flange that was posted earlier to hold the high angle boot from sliding towards the diff because you are stretching he new boot over and passed the small flange that would still be connected to the axle and the flange needs a clamp along with a clamp on the new boot! I wish I had a picture. It's kind of hard to picture!

Stole this from the boot slide mod thread:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...-blowing-cv-boots.146070/page-7#post-10203397

This is the preferred internal stop. It's the (small) end of an old boot backed up by an old inner "tulip" joint c-clip (not my pic).
The red arrow below shows the shoulder of the groove in question and boot stop placement.

Oh didn't know it sat there but I just put a pinch clamp over the stock flange and then put my other boot on!

Yup, I think I'll be using both the old c-clip and old pinch clamp just to be safe

So your pretty much taking the small end of an old boot, clamping it down to its original spot, then pulling your new boot over that and clamping it down. Correct?

That's what I got from it. I would still rather have someone show me in person, though....I need to do this.

Yup, seems to do well with new boots.

Other people have experienced that, when doing this to older boots, the change in angle can cause them to tear fairly quick. I chock that up as to why my inner boots tore very fast after lifting even though the fins weren't touching too badly.
I'll try to make a video of it when I do this. Probably won't be until Spring though...

Exactly how I did mine. Fins don't rub. slide new boot on, slide the cut on boot on, then slide old C-Clip (the one that holds the tulip) on.

So they people do it to both the outer and inner boots? I was planning to get axles from cvj with there high angle boots and figured I would do this to if it helps them last longer.
