    Hello Everybody,
I am new to this forum and I would like to say that there are very interesting topics here. I was hoping that somebody might have some insight to my problem. I drive a 2012 Tacoma and lately I have been experiencing some issues with the headlight and AC. For my headlight I have replaced the bulb 5x already within a one month span. Could it be an electrical problem? With replacing the lights I had followed every instructions as to wearing gloves when doing so, and not touching the bulb. But it still keeps dying (driver side). AC: I had replaced the AC adapter once already but it only blows at the highest level. I know it's not the compressor because I had checked if it was working and it is. I also took my vehicle in for a full inspection and the dealer said everything was fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

1.) Replacing the headlight 5 times in one month is insane. It could be an electrical problem as cycling power or flickering the headlamps will cause an early death of the lamp. All I could recommend is to verify that you have a good steady 12 VDC at the headlight socket. With a meter while reading the voltage have someone else wiggle the wiring to see if the voltage drops off. When you plug in the headlamp make sure that it is completely plugged in, and maybe use some dielectric grease on the electrical connection to prevent water getting in.

2.) What do you mean the AC Adapter? I am assuming you mean the blower resistor pack. And that the blower only runs on high speed. Your cable connector may be burned and the resistor pack could be suspect. See this post for the part numbers for replacements:

Thank you for the headlight tip, it is insane that I had to replace the bulbs multiple times. These lights aren't cheap I won't even use cheap ones on my truck either. As for the AC, it was the blow resistor I had replaced (sorry) I saved the bag it came in to ensure I keep track of what has been replaced. I greatly appreciate the tips and providing the part numbers. I will definitely check these out. Again thank you and I will follow-up with the results.

Make sure you get the Updated Resistor Pack.

Your connector is probably burned also.

Hello again everybody... I know it's been awhile since I have posted for this issue and I was supposed to give an update, sorry for the lateness.. But here's my update; since this post in January I had replaced the driver side bulb with a factory bulb and it hasn't given any problems since then.. The blow resistor however, has been replaced 3x already and I had just about enough. I took my truck in to the dealer where I had originally purchased the vehicle and the mechanic had told me everything looked fine. I had then mentioned the AC issue(s) and multiple techniques/temporary repairs I had already done to it, and then he recommended I replace the whole electrical wiring under neath the dash board for about 1300. Wha!!!!! My ears then literally deflated into thin air.. I asked him if there was something else he could do to temporarily fix the issue until I get a second opinion. He showed me the resistor and indicated that it wasn't bad and I could last about another week or so if he does slight adjustments to it, and he still recommended replacing the wiring. So I had asked him to do the adjustment for now until the following weekend so I could get a second opinion. Well, 2 days after that - AC out again and I haven't touched it since then (it's been 2 months), I tried calling Toyota and getting any help is like trying to find s needle in a hay stack. Where I live it gets to the 3 digit status in heat and I don't want to keep messing with the AC adding additional damage to it. Any other advice anyone can give? Does anybody know who I can speak with for a cheaper price on the electrical (if really so the problem) without costing an arm and a leg?? Lol

Did you replace the connector as I suggested above or just the resistor? Your problem is more than likely the connector.

    Hi Jimmy,

Totally forgot to mention that, I had asked the mechanic to replace it but he indicated that there was no need to do so because it was "looking" good.. I bought a new connector just as you suggested, I guess I will have to replace it myself.. I can try tomorrow and update you on how that goes. Cool?
