you can't run the 285 without the lift. And the 265 will look to small with the lift.

if you're going to put a lift then the 285. If your not going to put a lift then the 265. With the stock wheels you may have to run spacers. There are some other threads on here talking about using stock wheels and not enough backspacing.

Its important to note (this might have been discussed already) that OP has a 2wd. So lift and also quality of ride will be different from those with a 4x4. Since the 4x4 weighs considerably more up front there will be less lift achieved from the coils and the ride will be softer.

OP, if you have not already done so it might be a good idea to add this to the first page just so those with a 4x4 are not disappointed by the amount of lift achieved using the same set-up. The weight really does influence the lift height and people should take this into consideration when selecting their coils and or adjusting the 5100s.

    Truck looks real nice BTW

True that^^^ I have 2WD and did 5100 at 0" and OME 887 and got 3" of lift. Been reading here that it's around 2" with this setup, I also got 3/4" top plate that was going to use but decided I already got 3" and don't need more lift. Before lift 20.5" driver and 20.75 passenger. After lift it's sitting 24" I think it will settle some, maybe .25-.5"
On the side note ride quality is great, I honestly can't tell the difference from stock.

I know this is old, but I just wanted to point this out yet again...
The difference is weight up front (4x4 vs. 2WD). If you have a 2WD double cab it sounds like 887s will get you to 3" with the 5100 shocks set at Zero. With a 4x4 double cab it sounds like the 0.85 setting and 887s will get you to 3".

Weight is the key factor to consider here, its the details like this that people seem to overlook and end up with the wrong coil selection/shock setting which can be a costly mistake.

planning on doing a similar lift to my truck. 16 DCLB OR 4X4. Was gonna do 887's with 5100's all round which should bring the front up to about 3". Question is for feedback on the rear. Want to have the truck sit somewhat level. Curious as to opinions on add a leaf, airbags, or sumo in the rear with the 5100 to lift it to level. any thoughts.

Also does anybody notice a difference with the 1/4 taco lean spacer installed. still iffy on that one.

The Taco will lean on the drivers side, the matter is IF its noticeable to you or not, keep in mind the battery and gas tank are on the drivers side. Factory springs are specifically built for Taco lean considerations, the OME's are not...

to obtain 3+ inches of lift you may need a combination off the 887's set at .85 as some here have obtained that, also consider you have a 4x4 with added weight in front. Search and Search these forums as it will become an obsession until you find the right lift you desire.

    Example-

for the rear, my Toytec add a leaf only gave me 2 inches, which for you may be fine to have it level.

goodluck! post pics when its done please!
