No body cut, front winch bumper from Metal-tech 4x4 is shipping this month.

Integrated 20w LED driving lights that wire easily to the stock fog lights. We also built into the bumper a pocket for a 30" single row LED light bar, with an optional form fitting cover/delete plate for the pocket.

3/4" recovery points and overall construction using 5 different thicknesses of metal to put performance where it needs to be and keep it light weight. The bumper adds 105lbs to the front end.

This bumper is 3 months of development with 100% 3D CAD modeling from 3D scanning a 2016. Featuring a two part design so the winch mount is separate from the bumper. Winch reinforcement going back onto the frame for a solid winch mount and pull point solution. By not building the winch tray into the bumper itself, we made installation of a winch 10x easier. No lifting the bumper with a winch in it and/OR install your winch down the road by just pulling the 6 bolts holding the bumper to the winch mount and bolt your winch to the already installed winch system. Everything on this bumper is for performance.

Bolt on hoop. Option to go w/o it. The hoop does have two utility tabs on the top for lights, CB antenna etc.

The fender flairs and inner wheel liner does have to be trimmed, but only due to the massive increase in approach angle you gain with the bumper. But zero body cutting.

30" LED light bar pocket built into the bumper, protecting the light bar and becomes part of the look of the system.

Winch mount is separate from the bumper, allowing custom alignment for the fit of the bumper to the body. (the shell floats when installing) 6 bolts mount the shell to the winch mount. The lower winch mount trim plate is vented for airflow but also terminates on the winch mount itself. This is key for anyone who has tried bolting a winch lower plate to the front frame cross member AND have custom aftermarket skid plates. This bumper will fit with any aftermarket skid plate system.

Kinda looks like Bruce from Nemo. Does the bumper really stick down further than the fender flair line?

The bumper caps or boxes the fender flair protecting it and the leading edge of the fender. (it's about 1/2" if that, photos looks like more but that's just the camera angle) This also helps with a cleaner look since you cut about 4" off the fender flair increasing the approach angle. The tire can not get close to the bumper edge so it works well protecting the front end. Also anytime we can box a leading edge we can make it stronger with less weight vrs. just the edge of heavier sheet metal.

The lower brush guard is 1/8" steel bolted to the winch mount. Its a brush guard and actually optional since it bolts on to trim out the lower open area under the winch mount. But it does a great job as a brush guard. The winch mount is built from 1/4" steel and features twin cross beams of the same material. You can hit it about as hard as you wish to put your Gen3 though. The key thing is those twin beams protecting your lower core support, AKA radiator and condenser, and guard they do. The winch mount is considerably stronger than the stock crash bar behind the plastic bumper, so the vitals behind the bumper are considerably protected. The real question comes back more as, "how hard do you want to beat on your truck". This bumper is far stronger than most people are going to want to put their truck though. This bumper is not just for show it's for use, every part of it. Anyone who has owned Metal-tech 4x4 gear will tell you we build it for use, we wheal all our trucks and build our parts the way we want them for our personal rigs. (should see our underside of our Gen3 already. Past skid plates time, a video camera crew got a little crazy with it at speed...)

I thought the brush guard was used for support of the bumper. nm

Looks great. Few random questions, what's that loop weigh by itself and when it's mounted is it pretty sturdy? Also whats the little cover beneath each of headlights?

12lbs for the bolt on hoop. One can choose to not run it to save weight. We made it bolt mainly so one could chose how they wanted the bumper to look. Protection wise yes, it's rather solid. The flange is the same thickness of the bumper and the mounting area is reinforced from below with a 90* gusset on the backside of the bumper shell. With the added gusset it's stronger than if we just went budget wise and welded the tube directly to the bumper.

Those are not production. They were the original plan for the hoop mounting points. Looked great in CAD/Solidworks but on the truck not so with a two bend hoop. The hoop really needs those lower 2 bends, 4 in total to match the grill. It forced us to do compound cuts to keep it bolt on but that is what it takes, so we do it. If we just punched holes in the shell and ran the tube into them and weld them up, we could get away not doing the extra work with the compound cuts. But the tube from the backside would look all wonky and we would not have the tube as a bolt on option. Options are good.

With the line comming off the bottom of the drum it goes right out of the fairlead, works very well. It's a good balance of performance for winching but also supporting a huge approach angle for the front of the bumper with a winch in it.

Not going to lie. I was unsure of this bumper the first time I saw it. It looks great now. It really grew on me.

Any plans for an aluminum version?

do you have pics of this bumper from the side looking at the where the front meets the wheel well arc and a pic standing by the side mirror to that same location?

from what I can see below the flow from the front bumper to the bodywork looks kinda off/sticks out.

    thanks,

Doesn't appear to stick out any further than the fender guards.

    Good looking bumper!

Any plans for a rear with a hidden hitch and factory sensor mount locations?
