If the interior light switch is in "off" position it won't do it, it needs to be switched to "door"

Any idea if this still works if you replace the interior lights with aftermarket LED's?

Well now I really question it. I take anything a politician says with a grain of salt. I wouldn't think it would make a difference but the OEM lights are able to dim and I don't think the LED's do. I notice when I walk up to the truck that they come on like somebody turns them on with a dimmer switch so it got me wondering.

Ha! If Laura's friend, Nancy, only had that feature in the original Halloween movie (1968).

Yup what they said. a warning roads may be slick.
My 2nd gen had the same symbol in the rearview mirror / temp display. So no surprise when I saw the same symbol in the dash. I can't remember what the cut off temperature is for when it comes on but I beleive the manual mentioned it. At least for gen 2

Just noticed a neat trick. See those 2 recessed stripe marks in the drives door handle? Touch them and it locks the doors. Kinda cool.

True, but it only happens on the driver's side, doesn't go on if you approach from the passage side.

And if you grab the handle while its locked and have the bob on you it will unlock. You can also program it to lock/unlock all four doors. Or just the drivers door. Owners manual is a good read while your taking your daily constitutional. I learned tons from it. And you can download "Toyota Owners" app enter your VIN and the manuals for the truck will be in the app. Much easier to hold your phone than three manuals. Keeps one hand free in case you need it.

:turtleride:I just read an article put out by the insurance industry that claims 30% of Tacoma owners in the US receive a speeding ticket every year. Either that figure is seriously skewed, or we all gots a heavy right foot

I call bullshit. I drive much slower in this truck than I do my wife's Prius or my old Corolla.
