Warnings are being issued to those who want to be dicks instead of helpful. This is not how we welcome our members who have legit concerns. Either be helpful or move on.

Bullshit!! He did not come here asking for help nor did he have one dam question in his original post. He came here to grip and complain.

It's simple you don't buy a 40k truck and not know how the basic features work. Then complain when you can't figure them out because you won't take the time and rather hate on the product.

This guy was negative from the get go. So don't be busting on guys giving it back to him.

I agree, I didn't see any legitimate concerns from the OP. Then when I offered to solve his problem with cash, he wouldn't even counteroffer. He said he buys a new Nissan every two years so I thought he'd be overjoyed that he wouldn't need to be stuck with his new Taco Limited for another 23 months.

we really need a chat-room, like IRC used to be back in the day. We can freely discuss the retarded or not so retarded nature of a what appears to be a popular thread. o_O did I just come up with a forum suggestion?

It happens all the time, someone spends lots of money on something they have no idea about. I work in the boating industry and you would be surprised the things we see. We had one guy spend 50k on a brand new boat, kept bringing it back saying it was taking on water. After three test and we found no leaks, we got him to meet us at the lake. We asked him to launch the boat as he normally does, well guess what, he didn't put the plug in. He had already told his Co workers the boat is junk and he would not buy another one, then find out it was operator error. That's just one example, I have many more.

For the misfits who don't want to help, there's required reading for you below:
    JimBeam's: my "halftime" speech
As for mjbuck's issues, Ima feelin' for ya.
I have a 2010, 5 speed auto that had shifting/seeking issues when new.
After a 90° turn, the truck couldn't figure out if it wanted to be in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd.
At the time there was a Transmission Technical Service Bulletin #T-SB-0393-09.
Software change / reflash / or some kind of magic to the ECU.
Solved the problem. Don't know if it would be applicable to a '16, but maybe worth looking into.
Can't help with the other issues, as my radio was made by Marconi himself and still has tubes .
They're good trucks, hope you can work out the bugs.

    Good Luck

Just ran across this, if you haven't seen it (and hopefully not already posted here)
    Uninitiated trip meters reset
Apparently no resolution yet, but it's been reported to Toyota a multitude of times.
They are working towards a resolution. It's not just your vehicle.

Half of the issues (bitching) you mentioned can be understood/read in the manual. It took me literally 5 seconds to realize the truck did not want me typing crap into the entune while I was moving.

I did just learn how well the voice commands work with the navigation and phone and it's pretty sweet.

The gear searching was kind of annoying when I bought my truck. But after about 3500 miles and ATF top off it shifts pretty nicely now. Also I use my ECT PWR while in city and the get up and go seems better than my 2011 4.0 Tacoma and I have gotten 21MPG with it on.

Half of the things that I learned on my truck and past trucks were just searching for them on the interwebs. It's a great tool to use.
