    You keep the original and use some 3m rtv to seal the edge

    I just left the original gunk, pressed it all back together with clamps too, and added silicone too. Follow the thread, lots of info there

    over night should be long enough - 18 hours or so should be plenty. Mine were back together in 4 or 5. That was longer than others said they had theirs apart.

    good luck with that.... that stuff is sticky. I haven't had any issue with the original and some silicone around it
