Hey at least it sounds like you're staying productive. That's the one thing I hate, wasting time. Sometime around or after May is when I might get a 4x4; or at least sell the tacoma since that's when summer break starts and I'll have less classes then.... honestly I feel like a 4runner is a major possibility right now . It's quite a bit more affordable than a tacoma, I could get one and do a few mods and still have savings :D.

PS if you start seeing random notes around your house you'll know who:cool:

Yapp honestly I'm still pretty much dead set on a Tacoma. The idea of a 4runner was nice, especially since it would be cheaper and I would have some mod money right off the bat but the value of having a truck bed is worth not having mods for a little while once buying the next truck.
Question being now is double cab short bed, or access cab long bed and just bolt down seats to the bed. Yes it is legal in CA if I bolt them to the frame, will I get pulled over alot hell ya, but I mean it works lol

I understand the cheaper price side of things and having that extra cash for immediate mods!:thumbsup:Get what you want!No rush if not necessary at this time!Remember if you have seats in the back you'll have to have legal seatbelt's as well wether you have a shell or not!

Yaaa, I need some spare money on the side for personal savings. Also you never know I could end up with a truck with street tires so the first mod I would probably need would be tires and a lift, thinking about running 285s.
Thanks but I'm on top of it
I like the idea of that since if needed I could technically carry more people and I'd save a couple thousand dollars getting an access cab vs a double cab

Ya man you know I've always been a guy about savings, save save save! My mom is sort of for me getting a 4x4, my dad just questions it saying why would I go from a truck that we know runs right now to a whole different truck that who knows what might be wrong. But I need to live life man, I really do like off roading & my friends.... especially the chicks.... love to join me so a 4x4 would be awesome. Also I'm hoping to do most of the work myself with other people helping/teaching me along the way

Well actually it's interesting because on my mom's side she rode dirt bikes, dune buggies and all that good stuff from a very young age out in the dunes. Her dad was one of those guys who built his Model T roaster with a 450 if I remember correctly, or something way over powered, from the frame up! So in a way she wants me to get the 4x4 so I can experience what she did. Hell wish her dad was still around, if he was I would probably be driving some old muscle car he and I built in his garage lol. You know the old movies idea of building your first car in the garage. My dad is more so just thinking about costs and financials, he is always saving now recently so he rather not have me get any different vehicle that we have to worry about fixing possibly even though my truck may need a $1000 buck fix down the line. Also the tranny is being odd recently, I'm sure it's going to need replacing somewhere down the line.
Good and bad for sure, hell tomorrow I'm going to holy Jim with a friend and a couple of chicks crammed into my taco hahaha.

I remember you saying you have a welder @ODNAREM, I know you're going to busy soon but in June when you free up (I think you said June right?) I would appreciate/love if you taught me a little bit about welding! :welder:

I will gladly help you out!I've been trying to clear up some garage space to fire my welder up and burn some metal/material again! It just takes practice, patience and discipline! We'll talk instead of me overdueing it through post response's!I have plenty of knowledge to help you out with as well as books from school that got me started when in school at OCC and Cal State Fullerton!

You gotta teach me some of that knowledge! It'd be nice to learn something new that's auto related  I'm free all weekends pretty much since work is on week days; also when summer session starts in May I'm probably only going to take 2 classes instead of 4 so hoping to use my free time to learn some things :D
