    Agrh dammit.

Now I get to have the pleasure of trying to get a new one from the Toyota dealer.

And to top it off, my warranty runs out in August.

Anybody know how that certified pre owned warranty works. I'm the third owner of my truck (crazy, I know), but the previous owner bought it as a certified used truck. Am I covered under said warranty, and what all would be covered if I am covered by said warranty.

    I thought you're getting a new truck?

Just drop you're truck off in Cuba, make an insurance claim and get a new one.

LOL. But nah I'm keeping the Taco and will buy an older Wrangler next year as a trail rig. I cant seem to talk myself into getting rid of a truck I got such a good deal on that is in mint condition.

It better. I tried to have my tailgate replaced 4 months ago and they said they wont replace it until it bends.

Pisses me off though that I gotta drive 32.4 miles to get something fixed that never should have been a problem.

I just bent mine about two weeks ago, and they ( the dealer ) said no problem, but being third, I don't know, is it bent in the middle, that seemed to be an issue with the dealer.

Its bent in right in the middle. Honestly I can make the damn thing flex with my bare hands. I'll get some pics up in a little bit.

Well take it to the dealer and tell the truth, there is a TSB on them, and maybe everything will be O.K., with that said, my dealer is really cool, when mine gets installed I am writing a letter to the owner to say what a good bunch of guys he has on staff, I already send coffee and bagels at the Holidays, maybe it's paying off big.

True dat! If you're under 36 k and it's less then 36 months from time of original purchase it should be covered.

That doesn't look too bad. Smack it with your hand, it might bend back in.

that is bad, I backed into a former tree and it made a big old dent in the right side, then I jumped up and down to try to bend it like yours but it would not. So I took it like that to the dealer and they order a new one for me. then again, i have only 15k on the odo. Yours is pretty bent, i do not think it should be a problem this time...i recommend calling the 1800 number to get the report so the dealer knows you are coming...best of luck.

Not sure honestly. I've been moving things around a lot lately. I jumped up there on Monday to move a lawn mower and I'm assuming thats when it bent.

I had 620 pounds of copper scrap sitting on my tailgate today at the scrap yard, I didn't even think about the weak tailgate issue, but my tailgate is fine.
