Very possibly, I haven't thought that far ahead to be completely honest. I just wanted to see if I could get this far. Now off to read the rest of the directions.

Threw on the TRD Pro grill, headlights & painted surround on Friday night. Today I changed the oil, air filter & rotated the tires. Then I greased the fittings, removed the front sway bar and attempted to repair my my bent factory and xsp-x skid plate combo. No luck on that, time to go with something beefy.

I bought a Japanese truck because of the quality. I fly an American flag behind it because I fight for my right to fly said flag. However I also fight for freedom of speech which allows you to say what you want to. So all in all, enjoy!

Well congrats on getting that far on your own. I had that bracket machined knowing full well I couldn't come close to what you've done. If you need any help let me know. Good luck!

The manufacturer's statement of origin on my truck says it was built in Texas and contains 70% parts from North America. Sure, not all of the parts came from here, but you will not find any brand that is. Most of the fasteners on GM, Ford, Dodge, etc. are all metric - last I heard the US had not switched to the metric system, so why are all the "American" manufacturers needing them?
    Sorry, off my soapbox now.

Toyota Double Cab Short Bed manufactured in the United States of America by Americans. That's why.

"American" car companies make lots of stuff in Mexico.

Japanese cars that are built in America or American cars made outside the country or with foreign made parts.

Do you buy anything made outside the US? Toys? Kitchen stuff? Guns?

Get a tissue to wipe your eyes cause...

Plus...if Old Glory is flying you stuff your opinion and respect it and every life given for what it stands for.

    End rant.

None of that is new to me, but it is still a Japanese truck produced by a Japanese company. I am happy as hell to own one. But putting a gigantic American flag on the thing is just a contradiction, plain and simple.

And yeah, I own plenty of Japanese made products. I don't put American flags on them. I do wear an American flag on my right shoulder, every day.

Being a fellow service member you should believe in simple patriotism then. That's all this is, whether it be on a Ford, Chevy, Toyota, or Honda. Thank you for your service.

First, thanks for your service if you wear that flag on an American uniform.

Second, if you are deployed outside our borders will you refuse to fly Old Glory since you aren't on American made/owned soil?

So far as I'm concerned that flag over rides everything else.

If you don't wish to represent freedom on a Japanese truck fine. But don't go chastising someone else who believes in it enough to display it.

But hurt much? Yes. Nerve touched? Yes. Unless he is disrespecting that flag he has a right to display it anywhere he dang well pleases. Especially if Uncle Sam is holding a blank check with his name on it.
