Man I wish there was one available with just compass and temp with probe, those are the only things that matter to me, in fact id consider autodim and homelink a negative selling point to me. Which is a bummer because thats the bulk of the price tag. Let me know if there is a better option out there.

I put the home link, compass, temp unit on my truck and couldn't be happier. Had to wait about 4 weeks, But when Bob had one he contacted me and I paid - had it in my hands 3 days later. Awesome business man.

The rear sunglasses holder when opened has a phillips screw that needs to be unscrewed, then pull down the front of the overhead console and the front clip unsnaps.

Here is the link to the instructions that Bob sends out. This link is from another Tacoma Word member. Thanks weendoggy

I'm just curious what it is about autodim that you don't like. I didn't like it at first, either. As a matter of fact, I hated it. Threw off my depth perception for some reason...not sure why.

Now that I've got my '15 that doesn't have autodim, I find I miss it. A lot. Like...every night that I drive.

I'm assuming that the 3 buttons on the bottom with the little house/garage icons are for 3 different garage door options. Correct?

Yes, as far as I know that is what these buttons are for. I could not get mine to program, but, to be fair, I did not put a lot of effort in to it. I'm not sure if anyone else has had success programming them or not.

Nice! I actually just did this on Sunday. The only slight pain was fishing the wires through the firewall.

Oh and off topic but did you get those PosiTaps in?

I think after fishing wires through the boots in the doors, the firewall should be a piece of cake! Chopsticks are my friend hahaha!

Yeah, I actually just got the taps today! I'm heading out to the garage in 15 mins to see what I can make of them. Fingers crossed!

Installed an autodim/home link mirror from Bob! Tapped power from the temp/compass display. Install took less than 20 minutes. I wired it so the home link only works when the key is in the ignition. That way it doesn't compromise security on the rare occasion I park the truck in the driveway overnight.

If all you want is the Auto dim/Home link, Bob should have them in stock. He bought a competitors remaining new stock and has them...just picked up two for both my vehicles. The one I ordered for my wife's camry he made a custom harness for so it was plug and play as the car had the plug hidden in the headliner. I paid him on Wednesday and they were at my door Saturday afternoon. Customer service, price, and communication was top notch!!!

Bob emailed me back this morning, all set and squared away. Just paid for it. YESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He was super duper awesome and ver helpful. Sent me pics of the two mirrors, installing instructions, everything!

Man I can't wait to get it! Just hope it's not super hard to install for my "mechanically/technically challenged" self.

What did you end up going with?

Your install should be plug and play as you should have the harness stashed in the headliner behind the overhead console. Unless you have to run other wires for a temp display. The hardest part of mine was getting the dang spring clip to let go so I could take the stock mirror off the wedge mount.

Wenr with what he's got. Temp mirror with auto dim and all thw goodies that xome with it. So does that mean that my temp sensor is already up there somewhere and all I have to do is plug the mirror in?! I still have to run the wire for the temp, correct?

Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
You should have a white plug hidden in the headliner that will give the mirror power. The mirror comes with a temp probe that has to be installed up behind the grill and two wires have to be run through the firewall to the mirror for the temp probe. You don't have one. The one you see is for something else. Bob's directions are very good. Plus there's install pics here on the forum. You can do it with tbe directions. Just set aside some time and go carefully.
