    I will have them inside a locked topper, so I wasn't planning on using the locking system with the extension. Good to know, though!

    Now that I mention it, will there be any issues with damaging the rails when holding 4 gallons of water and a topper? I'm not sure how strong the rails are...

    They're pretty stout mounts. You might be able to add a "leg" to the bottom to keep it from putting any additional pressure on the rail.

    I'm thinking of mounting some smaller Rotopax at the rear of the bed behind the wheel wells, using the rail as the mount point, with the pax low enough for a tonneau to cover them (meaning, the top edge of the pax can't be any higher than the bed rail). Anyone know if that's been tried before? Pics?

    There were several videos on YouTube showing the same defeat, but now appear gone.

    Apparently, if you can get the outer can to spin, it will spin off with the lock.
