That's my plan, I'll have this and my IFAK in a slightly larger Maxpedition pouch in the center console, and can toss it in the GHB if necessary.

    Ok, good.

I keep my EDC in my pockets/on my belt, so I was hoping that this was just in addition to a good GHB, and that you were just opting to carry your EDC differently.

A $20 bill is a good idea, but you might want more than 1 of them.

I noticed gas prices are starting to go back up...

I'll keep the rest in my wallet, I'd hate to have a ton of cash to go missing from my truck.

Yeah, just carry cash. I keep a portrait of U.S. Grant in mine, but I live in the country where vehicle break-ins are not common. Hence why I'm comfortable keeping a Winchester '94 cased in the back seat. :notsure:

Just remember you can take apart the majority of the truck with either a 10mm or a 12mm socket lol. Three different adjustable wrenches are good too. Small, med, and skull cracker. A breaker bar isn't a bad idea either.

    Kinda like this?

I like the idea of attachment points. Most times you are going to have one hand free to use.
Right now I am using a Mtn Hardware lumbar pack (like the one below) for my sons stuff. Minimal with only the essentials - diapers, wipes, extra sippy bottle, plastic bag, change of clothes.

FINALLY remembered to snap a pic for you. I had the gun out of the truck tonight for its six month clean & lube and remembered that you'd asked to see it way back when, so I figured I'd take a couple of shots of it while I had it out.

Sling is a touch long for the gun (and me) but I left it a bit long to work with or without a jacket, since it's not adjustable for length.

Sling is just a basic weave, nothing fancy.

The ends are not particularly pretty, but don't slide around in the swivel and the anchor knot is fused so it won't undo itself.

Two boxes of just-in-case ride zipped up with the gun. One of these days I'll seal them in Mylar, but I haven't had a box make it past the one year mark yet because I shoot them, lol.

Zipped up and ready to go back out.

Love the 30-30, I have beat-to-hell Sears and Roebuck branded Win 94 that stays on my tractor and occasionally eslewhere. Great for coyotes, the chance deer, wounded/sick livestock, etc.

With all the rage over ARs and AKs, I feel many people forget about lever action attributes. Light and compact, quick firing, common and more powerful ammunition, and excellent reliability. Plus they don't look "scary" to non gun people.

I keep a 3 day SHTF bag, come along winch / recovery strap, general pliers tools etc, jumpers, first aid kit, snow chains, tie downs, a shovel which I have since mounted in the bed, and anytime I'm leaving town trucks gets a Glock 22 and 4 magazines of bonded hollow points.

300 blackout pistol. Meets all the criteria you listed except not looking scary to hippies.
