Wheeling with kids

Decided to start a thread for all the parents out there that off road with their children and the kids actually enjoy it. Thanks @DrFunker for the idea. Post up pics and stories. I'll start...

Yea my 4 year old is always asking me when are we going off roading dad. I also have a new born 3 weeks old I'm just itching to take out but wanna make sure he can hold his own head up before going out

 

I think my son loves it because wherever we end up and he gets out he does just about anything he wants within reason haha

 

Thays the way I look at it let them have their freedom thays why we go out there anywaus

 

This one still has not forgiven me for selling "Her Tacoma"

 

Haha I tell my son all the time it's his truck when he's old enough

 

Ouch that stings man haha just gotta make it up to her when she is able to get on the road

 

She is the oldest grand daughter and quietly reminds me that Pepere' will be buying her a Tacoma And has already stepped around her dad for my Snap-on tools....

You ride and drive with Pepere', you know how to fix what you break..

 

We're taking my son (2 years) for his first wheeling adventure next weekend. Planning on an easy going day chasing a few TW members around Blue Holler here in KY.

Fun story so I can share my vid: This past October we went to Adventure Offroad Park in South Pittsburg TN with the TN guys. It was awesome, had a great time, I'm glad my son wasn't there because some of the trails were pretty hairy. He would not have had a good time. Before we left to get down there I was doing some prep and found I had a bad UBJ that would have to be changed before we left for AOP. I was out of time with no replacement in stock so I air-dropped one from Amazon to get it installed and aligned the day before heading out. My son was supervising and I gave him a combination wrench and 3/8 ratchet to "help fix the truck" and he was delighted to mimic my wrenching motions on several places under the truck (properly lifted and safely blocked). This is when I realize that my Light Racing UBJ is not fitting the spindle correctly and in a panic I reach for my phone to check the part number I had ordered and paid so much for next day shipping. While I search through the interwebs my son puts the tools I had issued to him back into their respective tool bags and picks up my wrench and gets started on the UBJ. I switched over to camera before he could notice since he gets camera shy and caught him doing a pretty good job. Made his dad proud that day, and his mom just shook her head.

/The ball joint was for an FJ, I'm a dummy and ordered the wrong one. A little milling and it fit just fine though

That story and picture is absolutely awesome man that reminds me of my son on every aspect

 

Pics are great man keep them coming I need to get more of me and my son when we go out to post up he's been off roading since he was about 2 or so and love it

 

Can't wait to see them this thread should turn out really cool with stories and everything thays alot guys for your awesome contributions

 

My daughter loves wheeling with me. Taken her out quite a few times and loves going in the new truck since she just hangs in the back and watches a movie. She's bad influence though as she eggs me on to hit the mud puddles fast.

 

Sounds like my son always telling me faster dad then I go faster and he falls asleep lmfao

I'm not a parent, but my nephew loves off-roading. Too bad the prerunner can't handle some more extreme terrain!
